Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has decided to go for mass transfers and postings in a bid to improve governance, ensure transparency, and discourage corruption at all levels to provide relief to the public, as reported by the news sources.
In a recent development, the LDA has decided to make transfers of more than 600 officials below Grade 16 in the next couple of days. The mass transfers of officials will be made in two phases. The decision came after the LDA Director General Sumair Ahmed Syed met Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar who directed the authority to go the extra mile to provide relief to the public.
Speaking to the media, DG LDA said that at least 797 officials have been planned to be transferred. The transfer orders of 123 officials have also been issued in this regard followed by 647 in two phases in the coming days. The details also reveal that the transfer of inefficient officers including various directors will also be made soon.
DG LDA Sumair Ahmed Syed also said the officers sidelined in the past on the pretext of baseless allegations would also be posted as directors in various directorates. Similarly, senior officials in LDA’s engineering wing and other directorates would also be transferred soon.
