As per a news source, Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Wednesday has asked the private builders to develop green areas inside the housing societies. The move came as a follow-up on Prime Minister Imran Khan’s announcement of “Clean & Green” initiative.
As per Section 15 of LDA Private Housing Scheme Rules 2014, it is mandatory for private housing schemes to include green belts and trees under a properly designated landscape plan. LDA has redirected the private housing schemes to follow this rule and carry out an effective tree plantation campaign. Furthermore, LDA has also asked the developers to implement measures under an approved plan.
The move is also appreciated by the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) who has offered its services to the developers of housing societies.
