Imran Khan inaugurated Peri-Urban Housing Project in Lahore

The project is being finalized in collaboration with the Punjab Government and the Naya Pakistan Housing and Development Authority. The project at Raiwind would be built at 10 different sites. Moreover, the residential colonies having 100 to 500 housing units will be built in the suburbs of cities and rural areas of the province.

The prime minister also virtually inaugurated the work on different sites at Chiniot, Dera Ghazi Khan, Chunian, Khanewal, Khushab, Mandi Bahauddin, Mianwali, Jalalpur Pirwalla and Sargodha.

The Prime Minister is visiting Lahore to launch new projects and meet key stakeholders of the city. During his visit, important political matters will be discussed with his party members and the provincial ministers of the leading party.

Speaking at the inauguration, PM Imran Khan said that the government is keen on providing affordable housing to the people of Pakistan. He also said that the current government is also giving high importance to agriculture and tourism.

Detailing the housing project, Firdous Ashiq Awan last week had said that the Punjab government reserved Rs3 billion for it to provide shelter to those who are deprived of it.

She said that homes would be established at 54 locations, and work has begun on a priority basis at 32 spots.

“11 banks including Punjab Bank will become part of this scheme and the loan payment will begin after the key is handed over to the public,” she said.

During this visit of Lahore, PM Khan will also meet Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar to receive a briefing about the steps taken by the provincial government to handle the third wave of COVID-19.

According to the sources, Prime Minister Imran Khan would also attend a fund-raising programme at Shaukat Khanum Hospital.

لاہور: وزیر اعظم عمران خان نے صوبے کے چھوٹے شہروں اور دیہی علاقوں میں رہنے والے کم آمدنی والے گروہوں کی سہولت کے لئے 10 سائٹس پر تعمیر کیے جانے والے رائی ونڈ میں پیری اربن کم لاگت ہاؤسنگ منصوبے کا افتتاح کر دیا۔

منصوبے کو پنجاب حکومت اور نیا پاکستان ہاؤسنگ اینڈ ڈویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی کے اشتراک سے حتمی شکل دی جارہی ہے۔ رائے ونڈ میں یہ منصوبہ 10 مختلف مقامات پر بنایا جائے گا۔ مزید یہ کہ صوبے کے نواحی شہروں اور دیہی علاقوں میں رہائشی کالونیوں کو 100 سے 500 رہائشی یونٹس کی تعمیر کی جائے گی۔ وزیر اعظم نے چنیوٹ ، ڈیرہ غازیخان ، چونیاں ، خانیوال ، خوشاب ، منڈی بہاؤالدین ، میانوالی ، جلال پور پیر والا اور سرگودھا میں مختلف مقامات پر عملی طور پر کام کا افتتاح کیا۔

وزیر اعظم نئے منصوبے شروع کرنے اور شہر کے اہم اسٹیک ہولڈرز سے ملاقات کے لئے لاہور کا دورہ کررہے ہیں۔ ان کے دورے کے دوران ، ان کی پارٹی کے ممبروں اور سرکردہ پارٹی کے صوبائی وزرا سے اہم سیاسی امور پر تبادلہ خیال کیا جائے گا۔

افتتاحی تقریب سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے وزیر اعظم عمران خان نے کہا کہ حکومت پاکستان کے عوام کو سستی رہائش فراہم کرنے کے خواہاں ہے۔ انہوں نے یہ بھی کہا کہ موجودہ حکومت زراعت اور سیاحت کو بھی زیادہ اہمیت دے رہی ہے۔ فردوس عاشق اعوان نے ہاؤسنگ پروجیکٹ کی تفصیل دیتے ہوئے گذشتہ ہفتے کہا تھا کہ حکومت پنجاب نے اس سے محروم رہنے والوں کو پناہ دینے کے لئے اس کے لئے 3 ارب روپے رکھے ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ 54 مقامات پر مکانات قائم ہوں گے ، اور 32 مقامات پر ترجیحی بنیادوں پر کام شروع ہوچکا ہے۔

انہوں نے کہا ، "پنجاب بینک سمیت 11 بینک اس اسکیم کا حصہ بن جائیں گے اور عوام کی کلید کے حوالے کرنے کے بعد قرض کی ادائیگی شروع ہوجائے گی۔" اس دورہ لاہور کے دوران، وزیر اعظم خان وزیراعلیٰ پنجاب عثمان بزدار سے بھی ملاقات کریں گے ، جس میں وہ کرونا وائرس کی تیسری لہر کو سنبھالنے کے لئے صوبائی حکومت کے اقدامات کے بارے میں بریفنگ لیں گے۔

ذرائع کے مطابق وزیر اعظم عمران خان شوکت خانم اسپتال میں فنڈ جمع کرنے کے پروگرام میں بھی شرکت کریں گے۔
