IHC stops CDA from construction of new sectors
Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has barred the Capital Development Authority (CDA) from constructing any new sector without clearance of dues to the affected people of G-14, a news source reported.
The court also issued a stay order against the Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF) operation in the related sector. The decision was announced by a single-member bench comprising IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah who also issued notices to Interior Ministry Secretary and Housing Authority and Land Acquisition Collector.

During the hearing, Raja Faisal Younus, the lawyer of the affected people, maintained the stance that eviction of his clients through the operation without payment of compensation to them was a violation of the Constitution. Passing his remarks at this, Justice Minallah said that the residents of Sector G-14 cannot be evicted by the administration or police without payment of compensation.
