Mian Mahmood-ur-Rasheed Punjab Minister for Housing and Urban Development has said that the construction of housing units under Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme will begin next month in Lahore and Faisalabad. Under this scheme, low-cost housing units will be constructed.
The minister expressed these views while conducting a meeting of the Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA) board. During the meeting, it was directed that the land acquisition process in Lahore and other cities of the province should be completed on a priority basis. The meeting was attended by Director General PHATA Liaquat Ali Chatha and other board members.
Rasheed also said Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme would also be started in Chiniot and Sialkot from next month and the government wants to ensure the participation of the private sector in the project. To make this happen, the required amendments are being made in the laws.
