Faisalabad: The Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Rana Sikandar Azam has welcomed the amnesty scheme for the construction sector announced by the Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday, and said that it will help stabilize the national economy and overcome unemployment.
In a statement issued on Sunday, President FCCI said that the construction was the only sector that had links with 74 other sectors and millions of people have their livelihood associated with it. He also appreciated the PM’s bold step of elevating the status of the construction sector to industry and said that it would help enhance national GDP. He showed gratitude to the 90 percent tax concession in payment of fixed tax in the Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme and urged the investors to make full use of this opportunity.
Earlier, the Association of Builders and Developers (ABAD) also appreciated the incentivized special package for the construction sector and considered it the right move for the betterment of the sector.

According to the publication, President FCCI also said that the scheme would help not only in the provision of houses to the poor people but also accelerate the pace of national development. He also welcomed abolishing capital gain tax and said that it would help initiate new housing schemes in the private sector.
