Islamabad: The leading community of the country, the businessman, suggested different ways of uplifting the economy to the Federal Government of Pakistan.
The delegation approaching the government comprised of different representatives of leading chambers as well as different sectors of the economy. The discussion was held directly with the Prime Minister (PM) of Pakistan, Imran Khan in Islamabad.
It is requested to the PM by the delegation to announce such policies that aim at facilitating the agricultural sector of the country as well as the SME (Small Medium Enterprises) that can help in creating more job opportunities for the youth.
As per the SME Policy 2019, the focus is being laid upon the reduction of cost for businesses. The Ministry of Industries and Production is currently preparing National Small and Medium Enterprise policy for the year 2019. The prime focus of the policy is to reduce the cost of doing business in Pakistan and working together for rationalizing the taxation regime.
The business community has suggested the federal government to provide relief to the community for doing business and ensure clearing of the dues on a priority basis. Furthermore, it is requested by the community to Imran Khan to stabilize the electricity tariff that can help in fostering the industrial growth.
The businessmen community has recommended the creation of an export development fund as well. The proposed initiative as suggested the government to organize industrial exhibitions that can help the country in attracting amazing foreign investors and large investments.
In response to the suggestions made by the businessman, it is answered that there would be regular based meeting with the community discussing the progress and current status along with working upon the suggestions. Several suggestions regarding government’s arrangement regarding formalizing with IMF (International Monetary Fund) were also discussed.
