WASA to construct two more rainwater harvesting projects in Lahore

Next month, the Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) Lahore will initiate the construction work upon two rainwater harvesting projects at various locations of the provincial capital.

This step is taken over the instructions of Chief Minister Usman Buzdar to store a large quantity of stormwater, and use it for plants, parks, as well as for agricultural purposes. 

After the success of the rainwater harvesting project over Lawrence Road, such projects are launch in Lahore at two different points.

The construction of these projects will take place on Kashmir Road near LDA Plaza, and outside Sheranwala Gate Circular Road at the estimated cost of Rs 240 million. 

The projects at Kashmir Road will have a capacity of 1.2 million gallons, while the project outside Sheranwala Gare will have a capacity of 1.5 million gallons.

After the approval of the possible studies, Water and Sanitation Agency start to tender the process that will be completed soon, and contracts will then be awarded to the bidders who will succeed.

Other such projects to be launched further will be at Tajpura Chowk, which will have a storage capacity of 1.2 million gallons, Karim Block Iqbal Town, on Waris Road, Railway Station, and Cooper Road.

اگلے ماہ ، واٹر اینڈ سیینیٹیشن ایجنسی (واسا) لاہور صوبائی دارالحکومت کے مختلف مقامات پر بارش کے پانی کو جمع کرنے کے دو منصوبوں پر تعمیراتی کام کا آغاز کرے گی۔

یہ قدم وزیراعلیٰ عثمان بزدار کی ہدایت پر اٹھایا گیا ہے جس کا مقصد طوفانی پانی کی بڑی مقدار کو محفوظ رکھنا ، اور اس کو پودوں ، پارکوں اور زرعی مقاصد کے لئے استعمال کرنا ہے۔

لارنس روڈ پر بارش کے پانی کو جمع کرنے کے منصوبے کی کامیابی کے بعد ، اس طرح کے منصوبے دو مختلف مقامات پر لاہور میں شروع ہورہے ہیں۔

ان منصوبوں کی تعمیر کشمیر روڈ پر ایل ڈی اے پلازہ کے قریب اور شیرانوالہ گیٹ سرکلر روڈ کے باہر 240 ملین روپے کی لاگت سے ہوگی۔

کشمیر روڈ کے منصوبوں میں 1.2 ملین گیلن کی گنجائش ہوگی جبکہ شیرانوالہ گیئر سے باہر کے منصوبے میں 15 لاکھ گیلن کی گنجائش ہوگی۔

امکانات کے مطالعے کی منظوری کے بعد ، پانی اور صفائی ایجنسی جلد ہی مکمل ہونے والے عمل کو ٹینڈر کرنا شروع کردے گی ، اور پھر معاہدوں کو کامیاب قرار پانے والوں کو دیا جائے گا۔

اس طرح کے دوسرے منصوبے تاج پورہ چوک میں ہوں گے ، جس میں واریس روڈ ، ریلوے اسٹیشن ، اور کوپر روڈ پر کریم بلاک اقبال ٹاؤن ، 1.2 ملین گیلن ذخیرہ کرنے کی گنجائش ہوگی۔
