WASA Rawalpindi laid pipeline for Kehkashan water supply scheme

According to a WASA spokesman, eight tube wells had been installed under the project. Under this scheme, construction of two groundwater storage tanks, and two overhead water tanks was in full swing while work on the remaining water supply lines would also be started as the funds would be released.

The scheme would be completed within the scheduled time frame. He informed that a summary for the formation of the Project Management Unit had been sent to the Punjab government for implementation of the project for obtaining water from Chahan Dam.

He expressed the hope that after its approval, work on the project would be started this year. Six Union Councils of PP-12 and 13 would be supplied six million gallons of water per day.

Among the new schemes, tenders were being held for more than 20 schemes while pre-qualification of firms for major schemes was underway, he added.

He said WASA vice-chairman had directed the authorities concerned to focus on private housing societies to recover water charges.

واسا کے ترجمان کے مطابق اس منصوبے کے تحت آٹھ ٹیوب ویل لگائے گئے تھے۔ اس سکیم کے تحت دو زیر زمین پانی ذخیرہ کرنے والے ٹینکوں ، اور دو اوور ہیڈ واٹر ٹینکس کی تعمیر زور و شور سے جاری ہے جبکہ پانی کی بقیہ لائنوں پر بھی کام شروع کیا جائے گا کیونکہ فنڈز جاری کیے جائیں گے۔

اسکیم مقررہ وقت کے اندر مکمل کی جائے گی۔ انہوں نے بتایا کہ چھان ڈیم سے پانی کے حصول کے منصوبے پر عملدرآمد کے لیے پراجیکٹ مینجمنٹ یونٹ کی تشکیل کی سمری پنجاب حکومت کو بھیجی گئی تھی۔

انہوں نے اس امید کا اظہار کیا کہ اس کی منظوری کے بعد اس سال اس منصوبے پر کام شروع ہو جائے گا۔ پی پی 12 اور 13 کی چھ یونین کونسلوں کو روزانہ 60 لاکھ گیلن پانی فراہم کیا جائے گا۔

انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ نئی اسکیموں میں 20 سے زائد سکیموں کے لیے ٹینڈر منعقد کیے جا رہے ہیں جبکہ بڑی اسکیموں کے لیے فرموں کی پری کوالیفکیشن جاری ہے۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ واسا کے وائس چیئرمین نے متعلقہ حکام کو ہدایت کی ہے کہ وہ پانی کے چارجز کی وصولی کے لیے نجی ہاؤسنگ سوسائٹیز پر توجہ دیں۔
