WASA Faisalabad formulates a plan to install solar plant

The installation of a 24 MW solar plant will be done at a cost of Rs4 billion. With the installation of this plant, it will be possible to solve WASA’s financial problems and end the energy crisis.

Presiding over the meeting on the agenda of the meeting of the Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA), and WASA governing body, WASA Vice Chairman Sheikh Shahid Javed said that as per the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, a full-scale operation is being carried out to relinquish WASA lands from illegal occupants.

The positive results are emerging. He clarified that the relinquished WASA lands would now be used for the improvement of the water supply and sewerage system.

WASA Managing Director Jabbar Anwar Chaudhry said that the feasibility of a 24 MW solar plant costing more than Rs. 4 billion has been prepared, and efforts are being made to include it in the CPEC priority project.

Regarding the installation of the solar power plant, PC-1 has been sent to the concerned authorities while the final decision of the project will be taken by the Punjab government.

He said the completion of the project will save Rs90 to 100 million monthly electricity bills, and this amount can be spent on other projects which will further improve the services of WASA.

24 میگاواٹ سولر پلانٹ کی تنصیب 4 ارب روپے کی لاگت سے ہوگی۔ اس پلانٹ کی تنصیب سے ، واسا کے مالی مسائل حل کرنے اور توانائی کے بحران کا خاتمہ ممکن ہوگا۔

فیصل آباد ڈویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی (ایف ڈی اے) ، اور واسا گورننگ باڈی کے اجل��س کے ایجنڈے پر اجلاس کی صدارت کرتے ہوئے ، واسا کے وائس چیئرمین شیخ شاہد جاوید نے کہا کہ وزیر اعظم عمران خان کے وژن کے مطابق ، واسا کی اراضی کو غیر قانونی قبضہ کرنے والوں سے دستبردار کرنے کیلئے ایک مکمل پیمانے پر آپریشن کیا جارہا ہے

اس کے مثبت نتائج سامنے آرہے ہیں۔ انہوں نے واضح کیا کہ ختم ہونے والی واسا زمینوں کو اب پانی کی فراہمی اور نکاسی آب کے نظام کی بہتری کے لئے استعمال کیا جائے گا۔

واسا کے منیجنگ ڈائریکٹر جبار انور چودھری نے بتایا کہ 24 میگاواٹ کے شمسی پلانٹ کی فزیبلٹی جس پر لاگت آئے گی۔ 4 ارب تیار ہوچکے ہیں ، اور اس کو سی پی ای سی ترجیحی منصوبے میں شامل کرنے کی کوشش کی جارہی ہے۔

سولر پاور پلانٹ کی تنصیب کے حوالے سے ، پی سی ون متعلقہ حکام کو بھیج دیا گیا ہے جبکہ منصوبے کا حتمی فیصلہ حکومت پنجاب کرے گی۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ منصوبے کی تکمیل سے 90 سے 100 ملین روپے ماہانہ بجلی کے بلوں کی بچت ہوگی اور اس رقم کو دوسرے منصوبوں پر بھی خرچ کیا جاسکتا ہے جس سے واسا کی خدمات میں مزید بہتری آئے گی۔
