Rawalpindi: The water crisis has been reaching its severity aided by the unannounced power outages within the city paired up with the extreme heat, reported a news source.
The three dams, namely the Rawal Dam, Khanpur Dam, and the SimlI Dam have currently been failing to provide for and fulfill the needs of the residents of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. The dams have started to run low on water due to the constant drought and the scorching summer heat.
If the area does not receive its annual torrential rains till May 31, then water rationing will be started in early June. This will be done to counter the dwindling supply of water from the three dams for the twin cities.
Due to extreme heat and load shedding tube wells supplying water to WASA and cantonment have also been failing to supply the water, water supply from all shallow tube wells is declining
