Two-third of eligible population of Pakistan to be vaccinated by year end

Around two-thirds of the eligible population will be vaccinated against coronavirus by the end of the current year, says Parliamentary Secretary for National Health Services Dr. Nausheen Hamid.

According to her, the government has administered a coronavirus vaccine to over 30 million people and will ensure the vaccination of more than 70 percent of the eligible population by next December.

Dr. Nausheen said around 2,600 COVID-19 vaccination centers and 3,000 mobile units are operational. She said unvaccinated people were highly vulnerable to the dangerous delta variant of the virus.

The parliamentary secretary said the fourth coronavirus wave was more deadly than previous ones and over 70 percent of new coronavirus cases were of the delta variant. She pushed the people to get themselves vaccinated for their own and others' protection against COVID-19.

She lauded the efforts of the government, especially Prime Minister Imran Khan and NCOC, over speedy vaccination of people and enforcement of SOPs.

پارلیمانی سیکرٹری برائے نیشنل ہیلتھ سروسز ڈاکٹر نوشین حامد کا کہنا ہے کہ رواں سال کے اختتام تک تقریبا دو تہائی اہل آبادی کو کورونا وائرس کے خلاف ویکسین دی جائے گی۔

ان کے مطابق ، حکومت نے 30 ملین سے زائد افراد کو کورونا وائرس کی ویکسین دی ہے اور اگلے دسمبر تک 70 فیصد سے زیادہ اہل آبادی کو ویکسینیشن کو یقینی بنائے گی۔

ڈاکٹر نوشین نے کہا کہ تقریبا 2600 کوویڈ 19 ویکسینیشن سینٹرز اور 3000 موبائل یونٹ کام کر رہے ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ غیر حفاظتی ٹیکے لگانے والے لوگ وائرس کے خطرناک ڈیلٹا قسم کے لیے انتہائی کمزور ہیں۔

پارلیمانی سیکرٹری نے کہا کہ کورونا وائرس کی چوتھی لہر پچھلے لوگوں کے مقابلے میں زیادہ مہلک تھی اور نئے کورونا وائرس کے 70 فیصد سے زیادہ کیسز ڈیلٹا کے تھے۔ اس نے لوگوں پر زور دیا کہ وہ خود کو اور دوسروں کو COVID-19 کے خلاف حفاظتی ٹیکے لگوائیں۔

انہوں نے حکومت کی بالخصوص وزیر اعظم عمران خان اور این سی او سی کی جانب سے لوگوں کی تیز ویکسینیشن اور ایس او پیز کے نفاذ کی کوششوں کو سراہا۔
