Two buildings converted into quarantine centers in wake of omicron

According to the news sources, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Hamza Shafqaat said the quarantine centres were set up at an OGDCL hostel in I-9 and Redison Hotel in Blue Area in the wake of Omicron, the new genotype of Covid-19.

The management of the two establishments offered the buildings for quarantine centres, he added.

Marriott and Serena's hotels were also nominated for the quarantine centres but due to the OIC meeting scheduled to be held in the capital the hotels were removed from the list.

A notification issued from the office of the DC said in wake of the new genotype of Covid19 virus and following the containment strategy of NCOC it has been decided by the capital administration to revitalise/establish quarantine centres in the OGDCL I-9 hostel and Hotel Redison.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Sheryar Arif Khan said more quarantine centres will be set up in the capital. The OIC meeting is scheduled to be held in the capital from December 17 to 19, and buildings located near the venues used for activities related to the meeting will not be made quarantine centres, he added.

خبر رساں ذرائع کے مطابق ڈپٹی کمشنر محمد حمزہ شفقات نے بتایا کہ کووڈ-19 کے نئے جین ٹائپ اومیکرون کے پیش نظر آئی-9 میں او جی ڈی سی ایل کے ہاسٹل اور بلیو ایریا میں ریڈیسن ہوٹل میں قرنطینہ مراکز قائم کیے گئے تھے۔
انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ دونوں اداروں کی انتظامیہ نے قرنطینہ مراکز کے لیے عمارتوں کی پیشکش کی۔
قرنطینہ مراکز کے لیے میریٹ اور سرینا ہوٹلوں کو بھی نامزد کیا گیا تھا لیکن او آئی سی کے دارالحکومت میں ہونے والے اجلاس کی وجہ سے ہوٹلوں کو فہرست سے نکال دیا گیا۔
ڈی سی کے دفتر سے جاری کردہ ایک نوٹیفکیشن میں کہا گیا ہے کہ کوویڈ 19 وائرس کے نئے جین ٹائپ کے تناظر میں اور (این سی او سی) کی روک تھام کی حکمت عملی کے بعد دارالحکومت کی انتظامیہ نے (او جی ڈی سی ایل) (آئ-9) ہاسٹل اور ہوٹل ریڈیسن میں قرنطینہ مراکز کو بحال/قائم کرنے کا فیصلہ کیا ہے۔
ایڈیشنل ڈپٹی کمشنر شہریار عارف خان نے کہا کہ دارالحکومت میں مزید قرنطینہ مراکز قائم کیے جائیں گے۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ او آئی سی کا اجلاس 17 سے 19 دسمبر تک دارالحکومت میں ہونا ہے، اور اجلاس سے متعلق سرگرمیوں کے لیے استعمال ہونے والی جگہوں کے قریب واقع عمارتوں کو قرنطینہ مراکز نہیں بنایا جائے گا۔
