Tree planting ceremony held on main GT Road Lahore greenbelts

The chief minister’s Adviser Asif Mehmood, PHA Chairman Engineer Yasir Gilani, and DG planted trees here Thursday.

The CM’s adviser while talking to the media said the Punjab government was working hard to eradicate air pollution and establish a healthy society.

The government of Punjab started the ‘Clean and Green Drive in the whole province with the vision to tackle the future challenges of issues like global warming and air pollution due to urbanization and industrialization especially in the last 3 decades and to make the province even cleaner than ever as rising pollution will mar our future generations.  

Lahore Ring Road Authority (LRRA) immediately felt its responsibility and sensed the dire need for resolution and mitigation of the problems being created by pollution and started active participation in the clean and green drive.

LRRA used its resources to identify the open spaces on both Northern Loop (Length=40 Km) and Southern Loop (Length=22.5Km) to kick off the drive as soon as possible.

وزیراعلیٰ کے مشیر آصف محمود ، پی ایچ اے کے چیئرمین انجینئر یاسر گیلانی اور ڈی جی نے جمعرات کو یہاں درخت لگائے۔

وزیراعلیٰ کے مشیر نے میڈیا سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ پنجاب حکومت فضائی آلودگی کے خاتمے اور صحت مند معاشرے کے قیام کے لیے سخت محنت کر رہی ہے۔

حکومت پنجاب نے پورے صوبے میں کلین اینڈ گرین ڈرائیو کا آغاز کیا ہے تاکہ مستقبل کے چیلنجز سے نمٹ سکیں ، جیسے کہ گلوبل وارمنگ اور فضائی آلودگی جیسے شہری کاری اور صنعتی کاری کی وجہ سے خاص ��ور پر گزشتہ 3 دہائیوں میں اور صوبے کو پہلے سے زیادہ صاف ستھرا بنانے کے لیے آلودگی ہماری آنے والی نسلوں کو تباہ کر دے گی۔

لاہور رنگ روڈ اتھارٹی (ایل آر آر اے) نے فوری طور پر اپنی ذمہ داری محسوس کی اور آلودگی سے پیدا ہونے والے مسائل کے حل اور تخفیف کی اشد ضرورت کو محسوس کیا اور کلین اینڈ گرین ڈرائیو میں فعال شرکت شروع کی۔

ایل آر آر اے نے اپنے وسائل کو ناردرن لوپ (لمبائی = 40 کلومیٹر) اور سدرن لوپ (لمبائی = 22.5 کلومیٹر) دونوں پر کھلی جگہوں کی شناخت کے لیے استعمال کیا تاکہ ڈرائیو کو جلد از جلد شروع کیا جا سکے۔
