Tree Plantation drive launched at University of Peshawar

IJT general secretary Imad Nizami inaugurated the tree plantation drive by planting a sapling at Madina Market at the Campus.

Speaking on the occasion, he urged the students and the faculty members to participate in the tree plantation to bring a green revolution and combat the impacts of pollution and environmental degradation.

He pointed out that the basic objective of tree plantation was to create awareness among the students and general public at large to preserve the natural environment and avoid hazards of climate change.

He said that it was unfortunate that every year saplings were planted but people least bothered to take care of them.

آئی جے ٹی کے جنرل سیکرٹری عماد نظامی نے کیمپس میں مدینہ مارکیٹ میں پودا لگا کر شجرکاری مہم کا افتتاح کیا۔

اس موقع پر انہوں نے طلباء اور فیکلٹی ممبروں پر زور دیا کہ وہ سبز انقلاب لانے اور آلودگی اور ماحولیاتی تباہی کے اثرات سے نمٹنے کے لیے درخت لگانے میں حصہ لیں۔

انہوں نے نشاندہی کی کہ درخت لگانے کا بنیادی مقصد طلباء اور عام لوگوں میں قدرتی ماحول کو محفوظ رکھنے اور موسمیاتی تبدیلی کے خطرات سے بچنے کے لیے بڑے پیمانے پر آگاہی پیدا کرنا ہے۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ یہ بدقسمتی ہے کہ ہر سال پودے لگائے جاتے ہیں لیکن لوگ کم از کم ان کی دیکھ بھال کرنے کی زحمت کرتے ہیں۔
