Traffic violations decreased in Islamabad after launch of e-challan system

The e-challan system launched in Islamabad under Safe City Project has brought the desired results and a decline in violation of traffic rules was being witnessed in the city since its inception.

It was launched in the Capital with an aim to ensure a safe road environment which achieved success in maintaining traffic discipline besides reducing road accidents and violation of traffic rules.

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Qazi Jamil ur Rehman said the latest technology was being used in policing affairs which would be helpful for the implementation of traffic laws and effective monitoring in the city.

He said the system would be further improved and help discipline the traffic environment in the city.

More than 17,000 e-tickets were issued to motorists over various traffic violations captured through safe city cameras in Islamabad under the e-ticket project. Of these fine tickets, 9,205 were issued over violation of speed limit and 7,799 for not following lanes.

These challan tickets have been dispatched at the addresses of vehicle owners which they described with the Excise and Taxation Office at the time of registration.

In case of non-payment of the fine amount within 10 days, the copy of challan would be placed in the master file of the vehicle at the Excise and Taxation Office while legal action is initiated against the owner of the vehicle.

The vehicles could not be sold out or transferred to another person the fine amount is paid.

سیف سٹی پراجیکٹ کے تحت اسلام آباد میں شروع کیے گئے ای چالان سسٹم نے مطلوبہ نتائج حاصل کیے ہیں اور شہر میں شروع سے ہی ٹریفک قوانین کی خلاف ورزی میں کمی دیکھی جا رہی ہے۔

اس کا آغاز دارالحکومت میں ایک محفوظ سڑک کے ماحول کو یقینی بنانے کے لیے کیا گیا جس نے ٹریفک کے نظم و ضبط کو برقرار رکھنے کے علاوہ سڑک حادثات اور ٹریفک قوانین کی خلاف ورزی کو کم کرنے میں کامیابی حاصل کی۔

انسپکٹر جنرل آف پولیس (آئی جی پی) اسلام آباد ، قاضی جمیل الرحمن نے کہا کہ پولیسنگ کے معاملات میں جدید ٹیکنالوجی استعمال کی جا رہی ہے جو کہ ٹریفک قوانین پر عملدرآمد اور شہر میں موثر مانیٹرنگ کے لیے مددگار ثابت ہو گی۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ نظام کو مزید بہتر بنایا جائے گا اور شہر میں ٹریفک کے ماحول کو نظم و ضبط میں مدد ملے گی۔

ای ٹکٹ پروجیکٹ کے تحت اسلام آباد میں سیف سٹی کیمروں کے ذریعے ٹریفک کی مختلف خلاف ورزیوں پر 17 ہزار سے زائد ای ٹکٹ موٹرسائیکلوں کو جاری کیے گئے۔ ان عمدہ ٹکٹوں میں سے 9205 سپیڈ کی حد کی خلاف ورزی پر اور 7،799 لین کی پیروی نہ کرنے پر جاری کیے گئے۔

یہ چالان ٹکٹ گاڑیوں کے مالکان کے پتے پر بھیجے گئے ہیں جنہیں انہوں نے رجسٹریشن کے وقت ایکسائز اینڈ ٹیکسیشن آفس کے ساتھ بیان کیا۔

10 دن کے اندر جرمانہ ادا نہ کرنے کی صورت میں چالان کی کاپی ایکسائز اینڈ ٹیکسیشن آفس میں گاڑی کی ماسٹر فائل میں رکھی جائے گی جبکہ گاڑی کے مالک کے خلاف قانونی کارروائی شروع کی جائے گی۔

گاڑیاں فروخت نہیں کی جا سکتیں یا دوسرے شخص کو منتقل نہیں کی جا سکتیں۔
