'Trade between Pakistan and China should be done in local currencies': LCCI President

It will also reduce the pressure from foreign exchange reserves. The LCCI president said that he requested the Prime Minister to withdraw the FBR’s discretionary powers of bank attachment. He said that the land in industrial estates is very costly which should be brought down.

He said that if the land cost is not reduced, Lahore Chamber will establish its own industrial estate. “The Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry has taken up the issue of property tax with the Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar in a recent meeting and he assured that it will come down to its previous rate”, the LCCI President said.

The LCCI office-bearers said that a conducive business environment will result in good economic results for both the government and the business community.

 Genuine reservations of the business community should be addressed immediately with the consultation of stakeholders.

They said that the business community needs special care from the government as the COVID-19 has affected the businesses very badly in the recent past and they are still struggling to get back on their feet.

They said that their tax, infrastructure, traffic, parking plaza, LESCO, and high cost of doing business-related issues should be resolved immediately.

Chairman Pakistan Steel Melters Association Mian Ahmad Hassan highlighted the issues of high freight rates of shipping companies, their bad attitude towards the business community, and demurrage charges.

ایل سی سی آئی کے صدر نے کہا کہ انہوں نے وزیراعظم سے درخواست کی کہ ایف بی آر کے بینک اٹیچمنٹ کے صوابدیدی اختیارات واپس لیے جائیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ انڈسٹریل اسٹیٹس میں زمین بہت مہنگی ہے جسے نیچے لانا چاہیے۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ اگر زمین کی قیمت کم نہ کی گئی تو لاہور چیمبر اپنی صنعتی اسٹیٹ قائم کرے گا۔ لاہور چیمبر آف کامرس اینڈ انڈسٹری نے ایک حالیہ میٹنگ میں وزیراعلیٰ پنجاب سردار عثمان بزدار کے ساتھ پراپرٹی ٹیکس کا معاملہ اٹھایا ہے اور انہوں نے یقین دہانی کرائی ہے کہ یہ اپنی سابقہ شرح پر اتر آئے گی۔

ایل سی سی آئی کے عہدیداروں نے کہا کہ سازگار کاروباری ماحول حکومت اور کاروباری برادری دونوں کے لیے اچھے معاشی نتائج کا باعث بنے گا۔

اسٹیک ہولڈرز کی مشاورت سے کاروباری برادری کے حقیقی تحفظات کو فوری طور پر دور کیا جائے۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ کاروباری برادری کو حکومت کی خصوصی دیکھ بھال کی ضرورت ہے کیونکہ کوویڈ 19 نے حالیہ دنوں میں کاروبار کو بہت بری طرح متاثر کیا ہے اور وہ اب بھی اپنے پیروں پر واپس آنے کے لیے جدوجہد کر رہے ہیں۔

ان کا کہنا تھا کہ ان کا ٹیکس ، انفراسٹرکچر ، ٹریفک ، پارکنگ پلازہ ، لیسکو اور کاروبار کی لاگت سے متعلقہ مسائل کو فوری طور پر حل کیا جائے۔
