Tourism being promoted as per PM’s vision: CM KP

This was told in the Annual Development Program review meeting of the Sports, Culture, and Tourism department, held here with Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan in the chair.

Additional Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Amjad Ali Khan, Secretary Tourism Muhammad Abid Majeed, Director General Sports Asfandyar Khattak, and other concerned officials of the department attended the meeting, said a handout.

Out of the total schemes, 77 projects are for settled districts and 29 for merged districts. Funds to the tune of Rs14.5 billion have been allocated in the current year’s budget for these projects.

It was informed that out of the 115 projects, 54 projects are in the sports sector, 34 in tourism, 15 in archaeology, five in culture, and six in youth affairs.

The meeting was told that 33 projects are due for completion with a total cost of Rs6.217 billion. Similarly, 15 high-priority projects worth Rs37 billion have been identified and Rs10 billion has been allocated for them in the current budget.

Briefing the meeting about the establishment of playgrounds in the province, it was informed that work was underway on 76 schemes in different districts of the province out of which 57 have been completed while the remaining 19 will be completed by the end of this financial year.

He said that there were ample opportunities for tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which could be utilized to provide employment opportunities to the people and stabilize the economy of the province but no attention was paid to this important sector in the past.

یہ بات محکمہ کھیل ، ثقافت ، اور سیاحت کے سالانہ ترقیاتی پروگرام کے جائزہ اجلاس میں بتائی گئی ، جو کہ یہاں وزیر اعلیٰ خیبر پختونخوا محمود خان کی صدارت میں منعقد ہوا۔

ایڈیشنل چیف سیکرٹری شہاب علی شاہ ، وزیر اعلیٰ کے پرنسپل سیکرٹری امجد علی خان ، سیکرٹری سیاحت محمد عابد مجید ، ڈائریکٹر جنرل سپورٹس اسفندیار خٹک اور محکمہ کے دیگر متعلقہ حکام نے اجلاس میں شرکت کی۔

کل اسکیموں میں سے 77 منصوبے آباد اضلاع کے لیے اور 29 ضم شدہ اضلاع کے لیے ہیں۔ ان منصوبوں کے لیے رواں سال کے بجٹ میں 14.5 ارب روپے کے فنڈز مختص کیے گئے ہیں۔

بتایا گیا کہ 115 منصوبوں میں سے 54 منصوبے کھیلوں کے شعبے ، 34 سیاحت ، 15 آثار قدیمہ ، پانچ ثقافت اور چھ نوجوانوں کے امور میں ہیں۔

اجلاس کو بتایا گیا کہ 33 منصوبوں کی تکمیل باقی ہے جس کی کل لاگت 6.217 ارب روپے ہے۔ اسی طرح 37 ارب روپے مالیت کے 15 اعلیٰ ترجیحی منصوبوں کی نشاندہی کی گئی ہے اور موجودہ بجٹ میں ان کے لیے 10 ارب روپے مختص کیے گئے ہیں۔

صوبے میں کھیل کے میدانوں کے قیام کے بارے میں بریفنگ دیتے ہوئے بتایا گیا کہ صوبے کے مختلف اضلاع میں 76 سکیموں پر کام جاری ہے جن میں سے 57 مکمل ہو چکی ہیں جبکہ باقی 19 اس مالی سال کے اختتام تک مکمل ہو جائیں گی۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ خیبر پختونخوا میں سیاحت کے لیے کافی مواقع موجود ہیں جن سے لوگوں کو روزگار کے مواقع فراہم کیے جا سکتے ہیں اور صوبے کی معیشت کو مستحکم کیا جا سکتا ہے لیکن ماضی میں اس اہم شعبے پر کوئی توجہ نہیں دی گئی۔
