To protect historic sites in Sindh, Rs.1 billion fund has been established

The Board of the Endowment Fund, which the Government of Sindh established for the protection of historic sites and archaeological sites, issued a notification.

Speaking at the event, Sardar Shah said that the endowment fund will aid in making sure that archaeological sites and historical landmarks are preserved, repaired, restored, and maintained.

A policy for different organizations and businesses to invest in this fund under corporate social responsibility was ordered by the province minister.

The fund set up to safeguard the heritage, he said, will also be open to contributions from international organizations.

The Endowment Fund for Archaeological Sites and Heritage Buildings, according to the Sindh Minister of Culture, would be used not only for sites and buildings but also for the preservation and study of other aspects of Sindh's cultural life.

The Sindh government provided 250 million rupees for the endowment fund for historic sites and structures during the current fiscal year, it was announced at the meeting.

تقریب سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے سردار شاہ نے کہا کہ انڈومنٹ فنڈ اس بات کو یقینی بنانے میں مدد کرے گا کہ آثار قدیمہ کے مقامات اور تاریخی نشانات کو محفوظ، مرمت، بحالی اور برقرار رکھا جائے۔
صوبائی وزیر نے کارپوریٹ سماجی ذمہ داری کے تحت مختلف تنظیموں اور کاروباری اداروں کو اس فنڈ میں سرمایہ کاری کرنے کی پالیسی کا حکم دیا۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ ثقافتی ورثے کے تحفظ کے لیے قائم کیا گیا فنڈ بین الاقوامی تنظیموں کے تعاون کے لیے بھی کھلا رہے گا۔
سندھ کے وزیر ثقافت کے مطابق آثار قدیمہ کے مقامات اور ورثے کی عمارتوں کے لیے انڈوومنٹ فنڈ کو نہ صرف مقامات اور عمارتوں کے لیے استعمال کیا جائے گا بلکہ سندھ کی ثقافتی زندگی کے دیگر پہلوؤں کے تحفظ اور مطالعہ کے لیے بھی استعمال کیا جائے گا۔
اجلاس میں اعلان کیا گیا کہ سندھ حکومت نے رواں مالی سال کے دوران تاریخی مقامات اور تعمیرات کے لیے انڈومنٹ فنڈ کے لیے 250 ملین روپے فراہم کیے ہیں۔
