Three Power Projects Due for Completion, CM told

The projects included 10.2 megawatts Jabori, 11.2 megawatts Karora and 40.8 megawatts Koto Hydropower Project that would be completed at a cost of Rs3798 million, Rs4620 million, and Rs13998 million respectively.

Upon completion, the projects are expected to generate annual revenue of Rs2.73 billion cumulatively. This was told to the progress review meeting of Energy and Power Department held with Chief Minister Mahmood Khan in the chair here on Tuesday, said a handout.

Provincial cabinet members Taimur Saleem Jhagra, Taj Muhammad Tarand, MPA Mian Sharafat Ali, Secretary Energy, and Power Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah, Chief Executive PEDO Muhammad Naeem, and others attended the meeting.

Commissioners of the Hazara and Malakand divisions attended the meeting through the video link.

The meeting was informed that work on other four important projects was also in progress including 84 megawatts Mataltan Hydropower Project, 69 megawatts Lavi, 10 megawatts Chapri Charkhel, and 6.5 megawatts Barando Hydropower Project which would be completed at a cost of Rs22000 million, Rs20087 million, Rs4378 million and Rs4195 million respectively.

On completion, the projects are expected to generate annual revenue of Rs6 billion cumulatively.

The forum was also apprised of hydropower projects being executed through foreign aid in the province and was told that progress was underway on 300 megawatts Balakot Hydropower Project,88 megawatts Gabral Kalam and 157 megawatts Madain Hydropower project which would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs85 billion, Rs39 billion and Rs82 billion respectively.

The meeting was informed that under the first phase of the project, a total of 328 feasible projects were identified out of which 281 Mini Micro Hydropower projects have been completed so far.

مکمل ہونے پر، منصوبوں سے مجموعی طور پر 2.73 بلین روپے کی سالانہ آمدن متوقع ہے۔ یہ بات منگل کو یہاں وزیر اعلیٰ محمود خان کی زیر صدارت محکمہ توانائی اور بجلی کے ترقیاتی جائزہ اجلاس میں بتائی گئی۔

اجلاس میں صوبائی کابینہ کے اراکین تیمور سلیم جھگڑا، تاج محمد ترند، ایم پی اے میاں شرافت علی، سیکرٹری توانائی و بجلی سید امتیاز حسین شاہ، چیف ایگزیکٹو پی ڈی او محمد نعیم اور دیگر نے شرکت کی۔

اجلاس میں ہزارہ اور مالاکنڈ ڈویژن کے کمشنرز نے ویڈیو لنک کے ذریعے شرکت کی۔

اجلاس کو بتایا گیا کہ دیگر چار اہم منصوبوں پر بھی کام جاری ہے جن میں 84 میگاواٹ کا متلتان ہائیڈرو پاور پراجیکٹ، 69 میگاواٹ کا لاوی، 10 میگاواٹ کا چپری چارخیل اور 6.5 میگاواٹ کا بارندو ہائیڈرو پاور پراجیکٹ ہے جو 22000 ملین روپے، 20087 ملین روپے کی لاگت سے مکمل ہوگا۔ بالترتیب 4378 ملین روپے اور 4195 ملین روپے۔

مکمل ہونے پر، منصوبوں سے مجموعی طور پر 6 ارب روپے کی سالانہ آمدن متوقع ہے۔

فورم کو صوبے میں غیر ملکی امداد سے لگائے جانے والے پن بجلی کے منصوبوں سے بھی آگاہ کیا گیا اور بتایا گیا کہ 300 میگاواٹ کے بالاکوٹ ہائیڈرو پاور پراجیکٹ، 88 میگاواٹ کے گبرال کالام اور 157 میگاواٹ کے مدین ہائیڈرو پاور پراجیکٹ پر پیش رفت جاری ہے جو کہ 85 روپے کی تخمینہ لاگت سے مکمل کیا جائے گا۔ ارب، 39 ارب روپے اور 82 ارب روپے بالترتیب۔

اجلاس کو بتایا گیا کہ منصوبے کے پہلے مرحلے کے تحت مجموعی طور پر 328 قابل عمل منصوبوں کی نشاندہی کی گئی جن میں سے اب تک 281 چھوٹے مائیکرو ہائیڈرو پاور پراجیکٹس مکمل ہو چکے ہیں۔
