The second round of consultation of the Lahore Division-2050 master plan has been launched

Four public hearings were held during the first round by LDA in Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura and, Nanakana Sahib in which they invited the public opinions and suggestions related to the master plan. LDA then reported that they had initiated another round of a consultative process on the draft master plan-2050 to get a second round of viable public opinions and incorporate them into the plan. During the first round, they received over 20 suggestions from the public through LDA’s one-window operation.

The draft master plan 2050 predicts an addition of 12.6 million in the existing population of the provincial metropolitan in the next 28 years. To tackle this incoming surge, they will have to provide housing and accommodate the population accordingly. 9 million people will be settled within the administrative boundary whereas, the remaining 3.6 million will be settled outside it.

ایل ڈی اے کی جانب سے پہلے راؤنڈ کے دوران لاہور، قصور، شیخوپورہ اور ننکانہ صاحب میں چار عوامی سماعتیں ہوئیں جن میں ماسٹر پلان سے متعلق عوام کی آراء اور تجاویز طلب کی گئیں۔ ایل ڈی اے نے پھر اطلاع دی کہ انہوں نے مسودہ ماسٹر پلان 2050 پر مشاورتی عمل کا دوسرا دور شروع کیا ہے تاکہ قابل عمل عوامی رائے کا دوسرا دور حاصل کیا جا سکے اور انہیں پلان میں شامل کیا جا سکے۔ پہلے دور کے دوران، انہیں ایل ڈی اے کے ون ونڈو آپریشن کے ذریعے عوام سے 20 سے زیادہ تجاویز موصول ہوئیں۔
ڈرافٹ ماسٹر پلان 2050 میں اگلے 28 سالوں میں صوبائی میٹروپولیٹن کی موجودہ آبادی میں 12.6 ملین کے اضافے کی پیش گوئی کی گئی ہے۔ اس آنے والے اضافے سے نمٹنے کے لیے، انہیں رہائش فراہم کرنی ہوگی اور اس کے مطابق آبادی کو ایڈجسٹ کرنا ہوگا۔ 9 ملین افراد کو انتظامی حدود میں آباد کیا جائے گا جبکہ باقی 36 لاکھ کو اس سے باہر آباد کیا جائے گا۔
