Test flight scheduled for 60 days after 55% work completion at New Gwadar International Airport

According to a Gwadar Development Authority official, the $51.284 billion NGIA project will be expedited further in light of the government's renewed efforts and the coordination of all stakeholders, including the Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan and the China Communications Construction Company.

The installation of 39 hold or hand luggage scanning machines is a key component which is also progressing on the installation of cutting-edge security measures.

Once the new devices are installed, the passenger screening process will be more reliable. The confidence of airline operators in the security of people & baggage handling systems will grow as a result.

A safe airport will entice international carriers to begin service to and from Gwadar and will generate economic development that will benefit.
