Stricter action ordered against illegal housing schemes

Syed Najam Ahmad Shah, Sindh local government, housing, and town planning secretary has ordered tougher action against the illegal housing societies and schemes. He gave directions while heading a meeting to prevent unlawful schemes from running and spreading. 

While the representatives of the Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan and civil society, Director General Sindh Building Control Authority, and special additional secretary local government took part in the meeting.

Mr. Shah has announced that the crackdown against the construction of illegal houses in various areas of the city is in process.

He further ordered that the eradication of illegal construction and the present housing schemes should take place with the directives of the chief minister and local government minister, by showing no leniency or mercy upon no matter who is the culprit.

Mr. Shah said that although the provincial government believed in providing people with easily affordable housing schemes, this cannot be encouraged based on illegal buildings and housing schemes built on illegal grounds. 

He also cleared it that if any government official will be found involved in being part of or behind the construction of any illegal building or housing scheme, then they cannot accept the mercy but strict action will surely be taken against any of them.

Moreover, according to him, people from whom the money has been grabbed in the name of housing schemes should be facilitated and accommodated as early as possible to end their suffering. 

He believes that people should not be victimized by the illegal housing scheme and should be given permanent relief by punishing the culprits who are behind the idea of these illegal housing schemes and are running them, fooling people.

سید نجم احمد شاہ ، سندھ کی لوکل گورنمنٹ ، ہاؤسنگ ، اور ٹاؤن پلاننگ سکریٹری نے غیر قانونی ہاؤسنگ سوسائٹیوں اور اسکیموں کے خلاف سخت کارروائی کا حکم دیا ہے۔ انہوں نے غیر قانونی اسکیموں کو چلانے اور پھیلنے سے روکنے کے لئے اجلاس کی سربراہی کرتے ہوئے ہدایات دیں۔

جبکہ ایسوسی ایشن آف بلڈرز اینڈ ڈویلپرز آف پاکستان اور سول سوسائٹی کے نمائندوں ، ڈائریکٹر جنرل سندھ بلڈنگ کنٹرول اتھارٹی ، اور خصوصی ایڈیشنل سیکرٹری لوکل گورنمنٹ نے اجلاس میں حصہ لیا۔

مسٹر شاہ نے اعلان کیا ہے کہ شہر کے مختلف علاقوں میں غیر قانونی مکانات کی تعمیر کے خلاف کریک ڈاؤن جاری ہے۔

انہوں نے مزید حکم دیا کہ غیر قانونی تعمیرات کا خاتمہ اور موجودہ رہائشی سکیمیں وزیراعلیٰ اور مقامی حکومت کے وزیر کی ہدایت پر عمل میں آئیں ، چاہے وہ مجرم کون ہو اس پر کوئی نرمی یا رحم کا مظاہرہ نہ کریں۔

مسٹر شاہ نے کہا کہ اگرچہ صوبائی حکومت لوگوں کو آسانی سے سستی رہائشی سکیمیں مہیا کرنے پر یقین رکھتی ہے ، لیکن غیر قانونی عمارتوں اور غیر قانونی بنیادوں پر تعمیر ہاؤسنگ اسکیموں کی بنیاد پر اس کی حوصلہ افزائی نہیں کی جاسکتی ہے۔

انہوں نے یہ بھی صاف کیا کہ اگر کوئی بھی سرکاری عہدیدار کسی بھی غیر قانونی عمارت یا رہائشی اسکیم کی تعمیر یا اس کے پیچھے شامل ہونے میں ملوث پایا جائے گا تو وہ اس رحمت کو قبول نہیں کرسکتے ہیں لیکن ان میں سے کسی کے خلاف سخت کارروائی ضرور کی جائے گی۔

مزید یہ کہ ان کے بقول ، جن لوگوں سے ہاؤسنگ سکیموں کے نام پر رقم لی گئی ہے انہیں جلد از جلد سہولت فراہم کی جانی چاہئے اور ان کی تکالیف کو ختم کرنے کے لئے ان کی رہائش کی جائے۔

ان کا خیال ہے کہ لوگوں کو غیرقانونی ہاؤسنگ اسکیم کا نشانہ نہیں بننا چاہئے اور ان غیر قانونی رہائشی سکیموں کے خیال کے پیچھے جو مجرم ہیں ان کو سزا دے کر مستقل ریلیف دیا جانا چاہئے اور لوگوں کو بے وقوف بناتے ہوئے ان کو چلا رہے ہیں۔
