Islamabad: The Supreme Court continued the hearing of Bani Gala encroachment case and gave instructions to the Capital Development Authority to ensure more transparency in the regularization of construction projects.
The authority has been directed to submit the reply on housing societies' disposal of waste in Korang Nullah, with the attachment of a quality report of the drainage along.
Justice Umar Ata Bandial said that the housing societies should refrain from polluting the nullah and have their sewerage treatment plants. The case has been suspended indeterminately because the judge said that a structure was constructed but it's not operational yet.
To establish a sewerage treatment plant, five acres of land was handed over to the Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation by the authority, in 2019. The plant had to clean water flowing from Korang Nullah into Rawal Dam.

جسٹس عمر عطا بندیال نے کہا کہ ہاؤسنگ سوسائٹیوں کو چاہئے کہ وہ نالہ کو آلودہ کرنے سے گریز کریں اور اپنے سیوریج ٹریٹمنٹ پلانٹ لگائیں۔ اس کیس کو غیر معینہ مدت کے لئے معطل کردیا گیا ہے کیونکہ جج نے کہا کہ ایک ڈھانچہ تعمیر کیا گیا تھا لیکن ابھی تک یہ عملی نہیں ہوا ہے۔
سیوریج ٹریٹمنٹ پلانٹ کے قیام کے لئے ، پانچ ایکڑ اراضی کو 2019 میں اتھارٹی نے اسلام آباد میٹرو پولیٹن کارپوریشن کے حوالے کردیا تھا۔ پلانٹ کو کورنگ نالہ سے راول ڈیم میں بہتا ہوا پانی صاف کرنا تھا۔
