State land worth billions of rupees retrieved in Punjab

Minister for Law and Cooperatives Raja Basharat said the state land owned by the Cooperatives Department in Punjab worth billions of rupees had been retrieved from the land grabbing mafia, and recovery of government arrears was proceeding.

He said that the relinquished land was owned by Punjab Cooperatives Liquidation Board which had more than four and a half thousand kanals of commercial, residential and agricultural lands in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Sargodha, Kasur, Attock, Murree, and other cities.

Raja Basharat said that the mafia had been kept that land in its illegal control for years. He said that 764 kanals of land at Thokar Niaz Baig, Jalalpura, and other places of Lahore alone had been relinquished during the last six months as he assumed the charge of the ministry.

The provincial minister further said that he had also directed Punjab Cooperatives Bank Limited authorities to take effective steps to get evacuate its land from grabbing the mafia as soon as possible.

He said that the Cooperatives department was being made more farmer-friendly, and was being gradually separated from the housing sector.

Raja Basharat said that the election schedule had been issued to revive the long inactive cooperative societies while the regular appointment was being made soon to fill the long-vacant post of the President Cooperative Bank.

"Furthermore, cooperatives stores and service centers are being rehabilitated and issuance of easy loans to farmers for purchase of agricultural implements through Cooperative Bank will be resumed soon," he concluded.

لاہور: وزیر قانون و کوآپریٹیو نے کہا کہ محکمہ کوآپریٹیو کے پاس سرکاری زمین اراضی پر قبضہ کرنے والوں سے حاصل کرلی گئی ہے۔

وزیر قانون و کوآپریٹیو راجہ بشارت نے کہا کہ پنجاب میں اربوں روپے مالیت کی کوآپریٹو ڈپارٹمنٹ کی ملکیت والی سرکاری اراضی کو قبضہ مافیا سے بازیافت کر لیا گیا ہے ، اور سرکاری بقایاجات کی وصولی جاری ہے۔

انہوں نے بتایا کہ ختم ہونے والی اراضی پنجاب کوآپریٹوز لیکویڈیشن بورڈ کی ملکیت ہے جس کے پاس لاہور ، راولپنڈی ، گوجرانوالہ ، فیصل آباد ، سیالکوٹ ، سرگودھا ، قصور ، اٹک ، مری ، اور ساڑھے چار ہزار کنال سے زیادہ تجارتی ، رہائشی اور زرعی اراضی موجود ہے۔

راجہ بشارت نے کہا کہ مافیا نے برسوں سے اس زمین کو اپنے غیر قانونی کنٹرول میں رکھا ہوا تھا۔ انہوں نے بتایا کہ ٹھوکر نیاز بیگ ، جلالپورہ اور صرف لاہور کے دیگر مقامات پر 764 کنال اراضی گذشتہ 6 ماہ کے دوران وزارت عظمیٰ کا چارج سنبھالتے ہی ختم ہوگئی تھی۔

صوبائی وزیر کا مزید کہنا ہے کہ انہوں نے پنجاب کوآپریٹیو بینک لمیٹڈ کے حکام کو بھی ہدایت کی ہے کہ وہ اس کی زمین کو قبضہ مافیا سے جلد از جلد خالی کروانے کے لئے موثر اقدامات کرے۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ کوآپریٹیو ڈپارٹمنٹ کو زیادہ کسان دوست بنایا جارہا ہے ، اور آہستہ آہستہ اسے ہاؤسنگ سیکٹر سے الگ کیا جارہا ہے۔

راجہ بشارت نے کہا کہ طویل غیر فعال کوآپریٹو سوسائٹیوں کی بحالی کے لئے انتخابی شیڈول جاری کیا گیا ہے جبکہ صدر کوآپریٹو بینک کے طویل خالی عہدے کو پر کرنے کے لئے جلد ہی باقاعدہ تقرری کی جارہی ہے۔

انہوں نے کہا ، "مزید برآں ، کوآپریٹیو اسٹورز اور سروس سینٹرز کی بحالی کی جارہی ہے اور کوآپریٹو بینک کے ذریعے زرعی آلات کی خریداری کے لئے کاشتکاروں کو آسان قرضوں کا اجرا جلد ہی شروع کیا جائے گا۔"
