Speedy completion of NHA as top priority - Murad Saeed

Federal Minister for Communications and Postal Services Murad Saeed has said that prime importance is attached for timely completion of maintenance schemes of national highways throughout the country, and undertaking of concrete steps to this effect is dire need of present time.

The present government is determined to provide safe, and sound traveling to road users on national highways and motorways in the country.

He was addressing a high-level meeting regarding maintenance of roads all over the country participated by Federal Secretary Communications Mr. Zafar Hassan, Chairman National Highway Authority Capt. (R) Muhammad Khurram Agha, and Senior officers from the Ministry of Communications and National Highway Authority.

Continuing Mr. Murad Saeed said, in near future about 70% of the National Highway Authority network will be maintained and restored.

He said quality and timely completion of road building and maintenance schemes stand among our priorities and that to this effect all damaged roads will be maintained on a priority basis. For the purpose, a comprehensive plan has been finalized, he added.

NHA’s General Managers Muhammad Naseem Khattak and Col Zulfiqar Ali Janjua gave a detailed briefing regarding maintenance schemes of the National Highway Authority in all the four provinces and in Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan regions.

In the briefing, it was told that under Annual Maintenance Plan 2017-18, a total of 913 km roads segments were maintained in 2018-19.

وفاقی وزیر مواصلات اور ڈاک خدمات مراد سعید نے کہا ہے کہ ملک بھر میں قومی شاہراہوں کی بحالی کی اسکیموں کی بروقت تکمیل کے لئے بنیادی اہمیت کو مدنظر رکھا جائے ، اور اس مقصد کے لئے ٹھوس اقدامات کرنا موجودہ وقت کی اشد ضرورت ہے۔

موجودہ حکومت ملک میں قومی شاہراہوں اور موٹر ویز پر روڈ استعمال کرنے والوں کو محفوظ اور مستحکم سفر مہیا کرنے کے لئے پرعزم ہے۔

وہ ملک بھر میں سڑکوں کی بحالی کے حوالے سے ایک اعلی سطحی اجلاس سے خطاب کر رہے تھے جس میں وفاقی سکریٹری مواصلات جناب ظفر حسن ، چیئرمین نیشنل ہائی وے اتھارٹی کیپٹن (ر) محمد خرم آغا اور وزارت مواصلات اور نیشنل ہائی وے اتھارٹی کے سینئر افسران نے شرکت کی۔

جاری رکھنے والے جناب مراد سعید نے کہا ، مستقبل قریب میں نیشنل ہائی وے اتھارٹی کے تقریبا about 70٪ نیٹ ورک کو برقرار اور بحال کیا جائے گا۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ ، سڑک کی تعمیر اور بحالی کی اسکیموں کی معیاری اور بروقت تکمیل ہماری ترجیحات میں شامل ہے اور اس وجہ سے تمام تباہ شدہ سڑکوں کو ترجیحی بنیادوں پر برقرار رکھا جائے گا۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ اس مقصد کے لئے ایک جامع منصوبے کو حتمی شکل دے دی گئی ہے۔

این ایچ اے کے جنرل منیجرز محمد نسیم خٹک اور کرنل ذوالفقار علی جنجوعہ نے چاروں صوبوں اور آزاد جموں و کشمیر اور گلگت بلتستان علاقوں میں نیشنل ہائی وے اتھارٹی کی بحالی کی اسکیموں کے بارے میں تفصیلی بریفنگ دی۔

بریفنگ میں بتایا گیا کہ سالانہ بحالی منصوبہ 2017-18 کے تحت ، 2018-19 میں کل 913 کلومیٹر سڑکوں کے حصوں کو برقرار رکھا گیا تھا۔
