Sindh introduces scheme for faster connectivity in Karachi

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has inaugurated a road rehabilitation project under a World Bank-assisted uplift scheme to connect Karachi’s rural population in the city’s suburbs in District Malir with the urban center.

This is the third road improvement plan completed by the Sindh government under the World Bank-funded Karachi Neighborhood Improvement Project.

The chief minister said that a Karachi Transformation Study had been carried out in collaboration with the World Bank that had initially identified three neighborhoods of the city for improvement of their amenity, and civic infrastructure.

The latest project has been completed at a cost of Rs1.2 billion and will impact the lives and economy of the people in rural parts of the city after getting fast connectivity with the urban center. The project was launched on July 5, 2019.

The project includes an urban forest with a plantation of 1,000 saplings of the local plants and trees. It also includes a one-kilometer-long walkway, bus stops, street furniture, street lights, and parking space for 50 motor vehicles as amenity facilities in the area.

Shah appealed to the people to take care of the amenities provided in the locality under the uplift project. He noted that the real estate value of the neighborhood had also increased after the completion of the project.

“The people should consider this project as an extension of their homes for its proper owner to make it a successful infrastructure development scheme,” Shah said.

کراچی: وزیر اعلیٰ سندھ نے کراچی میں تیزی سے رابطے کے لئے اسکیم کا آغاز کیا۔ وزیر اعلی سندھ سید مراد علی شاہ نے ورلڈ بینک کے تعاون سے ایک ترقیاتی منصوبے کے تحت سڑک کی بحالی کے منصوبے کا افتتاح کیا ہے تاکہ شہر کے مضافاتی علاقے میں ملیر میں واقع دیہی آبادی کو ضلع ملیر سے مربوط کیا جا سکے۔ یہ حکومت سندھ نے ورلڈ بینک کے زیرانتظام کراچی نیبر ہڈ بہتری منصوبے کے تحت مکمل کیا گیا تیسرا سڑک کی بہتری کا منصوبہ ہے۔ وزیراعلیٰ نے کہا کہ ورلڈ بینک کے تعاون سے کراچی تبدیلی کا مطالعہ کیا گیا ہے جس نے ابتدائی طور پر شہر کے تین محلوں کو اپنی سہولیات اور شہری بنیادی ڈھانچے کی بہتری کے لئے شناخت کیا ہے۔ اس تازہ ترین منصوبے کو 1 ارب 2 کروڑ روپے کی لاگت سے مکمل کیا گیا ہے اور یہ شہری مرکز کے ساتھ تیزی سے رابطہ قائم کرنے کے بعد شہر کے دیہی علاقوں میں لوگوں کی زندگی اور معیشت کو متاثر کرے گا۔ پروجیکٹ 5 جولائی ، 2019 کو شروع کیا گیا تھا۔ اس منصوبے میں ایک شہری جنگل شامل ہے جس میں مقامی پودوں اور درختوں کے ایک ہزار پودے لگائے گئے ہیں۔ اس میں ایک کلومیٹر طویل واک وے ، بس اسٹاپس ، اسٹریٹ فرنیچر ، اسٹریٹ لائٹس ، اور پارکنگ کی جگہ بھی شامل ہے جس میں علاقے میں سہولیات کی سہولیات کے طور پر 50 موٹر گاڑیوں کے لئے جگہ موجود ہے۔ شاہ نے لوگوں سے اپیل کی کہ منصوبے کے تحت علاقے میں فراہم کی جانے والی سہولیات کا خیال رکھیں۔ انہوں نے بتایا کہ پروجیکٹ کی تکمیل کے بعد محلے کی جائیداد کی قیمت میں بھی اضافہ ہوا ہے۔ شاہ نے کہا ، "لوگوں کو اس منصوبے کو اس کی مناسب ملکیت کے لئے اپنے گھروں کی توسیع کے طور پر غور کرنا چاہئے تاکہ اس کو بنیادی ڈھانچے کی ترقی کا ایک کامیاب منصوبہ بنایا جائے۔"
