Sindh government announces 20 mega projects for Karachi

CM Murad Ali Shah said in a meeting:

“I want to strengthen the Karachi Development Authority by giving them a bail-out package and a plan worth more energy and resources.”

Under the projects, traffic in the city will be streamlined by constructing flyovers and underpasses, and dilapidated stormwater drains will be reconstructed.

“I am happy today that out of 20, 10 major schemes have been completed and in the next financial year new major schemes will be launched,” the minister remarked.

The schemes completed include construction of the underpass at Submarine Chowrangi and its approaching roads worth Rs2.2 billion.

Murad instructed Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Shah to beautify the underpass and open the road turning from Khaliquzzaman Road to Sunset Boulevard by bulldozing the building constructed on the way. Funds for the residents and shopkeepers in the building have been released as well.

Here are other projects in the scheme:

• Improvement of Karachi zoo
• The road from Tank Chowrangi to Super Highway via Thado Dam
• Tipu Sultan flyover
• Hyder Ali Road underpass
• Tariq Road underpass
• Reconstruction of Stadium Road
• Rehabilitation of the roads surrounding Lea Market
• Landhi road
• Korangi 2 and 5 roads
• Bridge over Orangi nullah
• Water pipeline from Habib Bank to Pump 3

Other projects that are under construction include a stormwater drain from Star Gate to Chakora Nullah and the road from Jam Sadiq Bridge to Dawood Chowrangi.

Traffic signals and indication boards are being fixed and beautification work of Mai Kolachi Road from MT Khan Road to Punjab Chowrangi has started.

حکومت سندھ نے کراچی کے لئے فلائی اوور ، انڈر پاس اور نالوں سمیت 5 ارب 78 کروڑ روپے کے 20 میگا پراجیکٹس کا اعلان کیا ہے۔

وزیراعلیٰ مراد علی شاہ نے ایک میٹنگ میں کہا
"میں کراچی ڈویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی کو بیل آؤٹ پیکیج اور مزید توانائی اور وسائل کے لائق منصوبہ دے کر مضبوط بنانا چاہتا ہوں۔"

منصوبوں کے تحت ، شہر میں ٹریفک کو فلائی اوور اور انڈر پاسوں کی تعمیر کے ذریعے ہموار کیا جائے گا اور خستہ حال طوفانوں کے پانی کے نالوں کی تعمیر نو کی جائے گی۔

"مجھے آج خوشی ہے کہ 20 میں سے 10 بڑی اسکیمیں مکمل ہوچکی ہیں اور اگلے مالی سال میں نئی بڑی اسکیمیں شروع کی جائیں گی۔"

مکمل شدہ اسکیموں میں سب میرین چورنگی میں انڈر پاس کی تعمیر اور اس کے قریب آنے والی سڑکیں شامل ہیں۔
مراد نے وزیر بلدیات سید ناصر شاہ کو ہدایت کی کہ وہ انڈر پاس کو خوبصورت بنائے اور راستے میں تعمیر شدہ عمارت کو بلڈوز کر کے خالق الزمان روڈ سے سن سیٹ بلیورڈ جانے والی سڑک کو کھولے۔ عمارت میں موجود مکینوں اور دکانداروں کے لئے بھی فنڈز جاری کردیئے گئے ہیں۔

دوسرے پروجیکٹس جو زیر تعمیر ہیں ان میں اسٹار گیٹ سے چکوڑہ نالہ تک طوفانی پانی کا نالی اور جام صادق پل سے داؤد چورنگی تک کا راستہ شامل ہے۔

ایم ٹی خان روڈ سے پنجاب چورنگی تک مائی کولاچی روڈ کے ٹریفک سگنلز اور اشارے بورڈز کو ٹھیک کیا جارہا ہے اور خوبصورتی کا کام شروع ہوچکا ہے۔
