Sharjeel Memon to discuss the progress of BRT with ADB and AFD

This meeting was attended by the delegation to discuss the issues surrounding the BRT Red Line project. This was followed by a discussion related to setting down a deadline for the project.

It decided that weekly virtual meetings would be held to provide updates on the progress of the transit project. Added to that, on behalf of the Sindh government, the provincial minister assured the delegation that all possible assistance will be provided to them for the completion of the project.

The delegation was assured by the minister that the BRT project will be completed in 24 months, and therefore the process of purchasing the buses for the project should be sped up. Memon stated the government was eager for the success of the project, so it could be replicated in other cities.

اس ملاقات میں وفد نے BRT ریڈ لائن منصوبے سے متعلق مسائل پر بات چیت کے لیے شرکت کی۔ اس کے بعد پراجیکٹ کی ڈیڈ لائن طے کرنے سے متعلق بات چیت ہوئی۔
اس نے فیصلہ کیا کہ ٹرانزٹ پروجیکٹ کی پیشرفت کے بارے میں اپ ڈیٹ فراہم کرنے کے لیے ہفتہ وار ورچوئل میٹنگز منعقد کی جائیں گی۔ اس کے علاوہ سندھ حکومت کی جانب سے صوبائی وزیر نے وفد کو یقین دلایا کہ منصوبے کی تکمیل کے لیے انہیں ہر ممکن تعاون فراہم کیا جائے گا۔
وفد کو وزیر نے یقین دلایا کہ بی آر ٹی منصوبہ دو سال میں مکمل ہو جائے گا، اس لیے منصوبے کے لیے بسوں کی خریداری کے عمل کو تیز کیا جائے۔ میمن نے کہا کہ حکومت اس منصوبے کی کامیابی کے لیے بے چین ہے، اس لیے اسے دوسرے شہروں میں بھی نقل کیا جا سکتا ہے۔
