Seven-storey construction collapses in Karachi

The building was constructed upon an area of 40 square-yard lands which was tilted after the rainfall. The residents of the building were soon evacuated, which avoided the loss of any life. After the building’s collapse, rescue officials and police officers quickly rushed to the area, closing it off. Both the agency’s quick efforts helped clear out the debris from the area of the collapsed building. 

Several similar incidents have been observed in the city, which was caused by the civic agency’s negligence which did not tackle the construction of multiple storey constructions in the city. All these constructions have been built without the government’s approval.

A meeting was held between the SBCA officials to identify illegal and dangerous buildings which were to be evacuated and sealed.

یہ عمارت 40 مربع گز کے رقبے پر تعمیر کی گئی تھی جو بارش کے بعد جھک گئی تھی۔ عمارت کے مکینوں کو جلد ہی باہر نکال لیا گیا جس سے کسی جانی نقصان سے بچا گیا۔ عمارت کے گرنے کے بعد ریسکیو حکام اور پولیس افسران فوری طور پر علاقے میں پہنچ گئے اور اسے بند کر دیا۔ دونوں ایجنسیوں کی فوری کوششوں سے منہدم عمارت کے علاقے سے ملبہ ہٹانے میں مدد ملی۔
اسی طرح کے کئی واقعات شہر میں دیکھے گئے ہیں، جو شہری ایجنسی کی لاپرواہی کی وجہ سے پیش آئے جس کی وجہ سے شہر میں متعدد منزلہ تعمیرات کی تعمیر پر توجہ نہیں دی گئی۔ یہ تمام تعمیرات حکومت کی منظوری کے بغیر تعمیر کی گئی ہیں۔
ایس بی سی اے حکام کے درمیان غیر قانونی اور خطرناک عمارتوں کی نشاندہی کے لیے میٹنگ ہوئی جنہیں خالی کروا کر سیل کیا جانا تھا۔
