Islamabad: According to the news sources, the Senate committee has approved the implementation and introduction of “Radio Fee” during the registration of new vehicles.
The suggested fee was Rs. 500 and was aimed at generating revenue for the government. The committee had suggested that the fee should be charged to vehicle owners at the time of registration and renewal.
The proposed fee will be used to cover the cost of maintaining and upgrading the country's communication infrastructure. If approved, this measure will be an additional burden on vehicle owners, who are already facing multiple taxes and charges.
The proposal has been met with mixed reactions, with some arguing that it is an unnecessary burden on citizens, while others believe it is a necessary measure to support the country's communication infrastructure. However, it was later approved.
