SBBWU starts Tree Plantation drive

It has been launched to make its active contribution to the government’s drive to achieve the target of green Pakistan by planting 10 billion trees in the country.

The inauguration ceremony of the drive was held at the main campus of the university. Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Razia Sultana was the chief guest on the occasion.

Under the Tree plantation drive, 1000 plants as per the requirement of the university were handed over to the university administration by the Forest Department on the occasion. Shafiullah Khan and Gulzar Rehman of the Forest Department were present on the occasion.

The university students delivered speeches on the importance of plantations and their impact on the environment. All the guests, university staff, and students also wrote different messages and displayed them.

These pertained to their resolve to make the environment clean and green. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Razia Sultana said that the plantation drive was started in university since it shifted to the new campus and now it had become a frequent activity.

She said that the faculty and students of the university were enthusiastic to be part of the 10 billion tree plantation drive, adding they would continue to spread awareness knowing the importance of plantation and its effect on the environment.

پشاور: شہید بے نظیر بھٹو ویمن یونیورسٹی پشاور (SBBWU) نے "پلانٹ فار پاکستان" کے عنوان سے شجرکاری مہم کا آغاز کیا۔

یہ ملک میں 10 ارب درخت لگا کر سرسبز پاکستان کے ہدف کو حاصل کرنے کی حکومتی مہم میں اپنا فعال حصہ ڈالنے کے لیے شروع کیا گیا ہے۔

ڈرائیو کی افتتاحی تقریب یونیورسٹی کے مرکزی کیمپس میں منعقد ہوئی۔ اس موقع پر وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر رضیہ سلطانہ مہمان خصوصی تھیں۔

درخت لگانے کی مہم کے تحت یونیورسٹی کی ضرورت کے مطابق 1000 پودے اس موقع پر محکمہ جنگلات نے یونیورسٹی انتظامیہ کے حوالے کیے۔ اس موقع پر محکمہ جنگلات کے شفیع اللہ خان اور گلزار رحمان موجود تھے۔

یونیورسٹی کے طلباء نے شجرکاری کی اہمیت اور ماحول پر اس کے اثرات پر تقاریر کیں۔ تمام مہمانوں ، یونیورسٹی کے عملے اور طلباء نے بھی مختلف پیغامات لکھے اور انہیں دکھائے۔

یہ ماحول کو صاف اور سرسبز بنانے کے ان کے عزم سے متعلق تھے۔ اس موقع پر ڈاکٹر رضیہ سلطانہ نے کہا کہ یونیورسٹی میں شجرکاری مہم شروع کی گئی تھی جب سے یہ نئے کیمپس میں منتقل ہوئی تھی اور اب یہ ایک متواتر سرگرمی بن چکی ہے۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ یونیورسٹی کے اساتذہ اور طلباء 10 ارب درخت لگانے کی مہم کا حصہ بننے کے لیے پرجوش ہیں ، انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ وہ شجرکاری کی اہمیت اور ماحول پر اس کے اثرات کو جان کر آگاہی پھیلاتے رہیں گے۔
