Saudi Arabia’s uplift plan offers opportunities to Pakistan: PM Imran Khan

Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 provides opportunities for Pakistan to engage with the Gulf country in realizing Naya Pakistan’s ambitious plan owing to their complementarities in the socio-economic fundamentals.

“I must say that there are significant complementarities in the socio-economic fundamentals of the Naya Pakistan and the Saudi Vision 2030. Both lay emphasis on economic opportunity and diversity, domestic growth, modernization and development, and trade linkages and connectivity,” PM Khan said in an interview with Saudi Arabia’s Al Riyadh newspaper published.

The prime minister said Pakistan could contribute manpower — both skilled and semi-skilled — besides sharing its expertise in other sectors such as information technology, infrastructure development, and agriculture.

He said Pakistan and Saudi Arabia had historically enjoyed long-standing fraternal ties, rooted deep in common faith, shared history, and mutual support. Both countries had stood by each other, through thick and thin, regardless of the change in leadership, he added.

“We never had the reason to reposition our relations with Saudi Arabia in the wake of regional or international developments in the past as well as in contemporary times. Relations between the two countries have withstood the test of time,” he remarked.

The prime minister said both countries had a special bond for seven decades. “It is now our earnest desire to transform this relationship into a deep, diverse, and mutually beneficial strategic partnership.

We are now working to consolidate historical gains by exploring new and non-conventional areas of cooperation.

We want our trade relations and investment cooperation to be commensurate with excellent political relations,” he said.

وزیراعظم عمران خان نے کہا ہے کہ سعودی عرب کا ویژن 2030 پاکستان کو نئے پاکستان کے پرجوش منصوبے کو عملی جامہ پہنانے کے لیے خلیجی ملک کے ساتھ شامل ہونے کے مواقع فراہم کرتا ہے کیونکہ ان کی سماجی و اقتصادی بنیادوں میں تکمیل ہے۔

"مجھے یہ کہنا ضروری ہے کہ نیا پاکستان اور سعودی وژن 2030 کے سماجی و اقتصادی بنیادی اصولوں میں اہم تکمیلات ہیں۔ دونوں اقتصادی مواقع اور تنوع، ملکی ترقی، جدیدیت اور ترقی، اور تجارتی روابط اور رابطے پر زور دیتے ہیں،" وزیر اعظم خان یہ بات سعودی عرب کے الریاض اخبار کو انٹرویو دیتے ہوئے کہی۔

وزیراعظم نے کہا کہ پاکستان انفارمیشن ٹیکنالوجی، انفراسٹرکچر کی ترقی اور زراعت جیسے دیگر شعبوں میں اپنی مہارت کا اشتراک کرنے کے علاوہ ہنر مند اور نیم ہنر مند افرادی قوت فراہم کر سکتا ہے۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ پاکستان اور سعودی عرب کے درمیان تاریخی طور پر دیرینہ برادرانہ تعلقات ہیں، جن کی جڑیں مشترکہ عقیدے، مشترکہ تاریخ اور باہمی تعاون پر مشتمل ہیں۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ قیادت میں تبدیلی سے قطع نظر دونوں ممالک موٹے اور پتلے ایک دوسرے کے ساتھ کھڑے تھے۔

"ہمارے پاس ماضی کے ساتھ ساتھ عصر حاضر میں علاقائی یا بین الاقوامی پیش رفت کے تناظر میں سعودی عرب کے ساتھ اپنے تعلقات کو تبدیل کرنے کی وجہ کبھی نہیں تھی۔ دونوں ممالک کے درمیان تعلقات وقت کی کسوٹی پر ثابت قدم رہے ہیں،‘‘ انہوں نے کہا۔

وزیراعظم نے کہا کہ دونوں ممالک کے درمیان سات دہائیوں سے خصوصی رشتہ ہے۔ "اب اس تعلق کو ایک گہری، متنوع اور باہمی طور پر فائدہ مند اسٹریٹجک پارٹنرشپ میں تبدیل کرنے کی ہماری بھرپور خواہش ہے۔

اب ہم تعاون کے نئے اور غیر روایتی شعبوں کو تلاش کرکے تاریخی فوائد کو مستحکم کرنے کے لیے کام کر رہے ہیں۔

ہم چاہتے ہیں کہ ہمارے تجارتی تعلقات اور سرمایہ کاری میں تعاون بہترین سیاسی تعلقات کے مطابق ہو۔
