RWMC completes cleanliness operation

The Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) has completed its cleanliness operation by removing all waste materials on the routes of the 7th Muharram procession besides finalizing all the arrangements for the Ashura procession.

According to a statement issued here Sunday, Manager Operation Muhammad Husnain said the cleanliness operation was carried out at Transformer Chowk, Sadiqabad to Imambargah Colonel Maqbool Hussain.

The cleanliness of route areas from transformer chowk including Kuri road, Chah Sultan, glass factory road, Zafar ul Haq Road, Iqbal road, committee chowk, college road, and adjacent areas have been completed, he added.

He further said the RWMC had finalized all the arrangements under a special cleanliness program prepared for Muharram and Ashura day while the holidays of all the staff of RWMC had been cancelled.

Under the special cleanliness program, all Imambargahs, procession routes and their vicinity were being cleaned besides the waste containers were also being emptied.

The construction material or debris was also being removed from the routes of the procession and its adjacent areas.

He said that four relief camps had been set up at Fawara Chowk, Committee Chowk, and Pul Shah Nazar Deewan for carrying out the cleanliness work on a regular basis till the conclusion of Ashura’s day processions.

Husnain said two control rooms had also been set up at Municipal Corporation and Deputy Commissioner Offices that would look after the entire operation.

راولپنڈی ویسٹ مینجمنٹ کمپنی (آر ڈبلیو ایم سی) نے 7 ویں محرم کے جلوس کے راستوں پر موجود تمام فضلہ مواد کو ہٹانے کے ساتھ ساتھ عاشورہ کے جلوس کے تمام انتظامات کو حتمی شکل دے کر اپنا صفائی آپریشن مکمل کر لیا ہے۔

اتوار کو یہاں جاری بیان کے مطابق منیجر آپریشن محمد حسنین نے کہا کہ صفائی آپریشن ٹرانسفارمر چوک صادق آباد سے امام بارگاہ کرنل مقبول حسین تک کیا گیا۔

ٹرانسفارمر چوک سے روٹ ایریاز کی صفائی بشمول کوری روڈ ، چاہ سلطان ، شیشہ فیکٹری روڈ ، ظفر الحق روڈ ، اقبال روڈ ، کمیٹی چوک ، کالج روڈ اور ملحقہ علاقوں کو مکمل کیا گیا ہے۔

انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ آر ڈبلیو ایم سی نے محرم اور یوم عاشور کے لیے تیار کردہ خصوصی صفائی پروگرام کے تحت تمام انتظامات کو حتمی شکل دے دی ہے جبکہ آر ڈبلیو ایم سی کے تمام عملے کی چھٹیاں منسوخ کر دی گئی ہیں۔

صفائی کے خصوصی پروگرام کے تحت تمام امام بارگاہوں ، جلوس کے راستوں اور ان کے اطراف کی صفائی کی جا رہی ہے اس کے علاوہ کچرے کے کنٹینر بھی خالی کیے جا رہے ہیں۔

تعمیراتی مواد یا ملبہ بھی جلوس کے راستوں اور اس سے ملحقہ علاقوں سے ہٹایا جا رہا تھا۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ فوارہ چوک ، کمیٹی چوک اور پل شاہ نظر دیوان میں چار امدادی کیمپ لگائے گئے ہیں تاکہ یوم عاشور کے جلوسوں کے اختتام تک صفائی کا کام مستقل بنیادوں پر کیا جا سکے۔

حسنین نے کہا کہ میونسپل کارپوریشن اور ڈپٹی کمشنر کے دفاتر میں دو کنٹرول روم بھی قائم کیے گئے ہیں جو پورے آپریشن کی دیکھ بھال کریں گے۔
