Rs.42 billion breakwater project to be launched in Gwadar

The prerequisites for the expansion of the Port include the installation of the breakwater. This will help provide adequate berthing conditions for the port’s easternmost berths. The implantation period for the breakwater project has been estimated to be around 10 years, facing its completion in 2032.

According to the details shared, experts conducted a feasibility study that hinted at the development of a breakwater at the tip of Gwadar Headland. The breakwater to be constructed will be 1,772 m in length in the North-East direction. Currently, no other breakwater of the same dimensions exists in the area.

The purpose of the construction of this breakwater project is to provide ample marine protection against both the waves and monsoonal swells. This would further provide feasible wave conditions which can be considered safe for berthing as cargo operations and other functions of the East Bay development projects.

بندرگاہ کی توسیع کے لیے ضروری شرائط میں بریک واٹر کی تنصیب شامل ہے۔ اس سے بندرگاہ کی سب سے مشرقی برتھوں کے لیے برتھنگ کے مناسب حالات فراہم کرنے میں مدد ملے گی۔ بریک واٹر پراجیکٹ کے لیے امپلانٹیشن کی مدت کا تخمینہ لگ بھگ 10 سال لگایا گیا ہے، جس کی تکمیل 2032 میں ہو گی۔
شیئر کی گئی تفصیلات کے مطابق ماہرین نے ایک فزیبلٹی اسٹڈی کی جس میں گوادر ہیڈ لینڈ کے سرے پر بریک واٹر کی ترقی کا اشارہ دیا گیا۔ تعمیر کیے جانے والے بریک واٹر کی لمبائی ش��ال مشرقی سمت میں 1,772 میٹر ہوگی۔ فی الحال، علاقے میں اسی طول و عرض کا کوئی دوسرا بریک واٹر موجود نہیں ہے۔
اس بریک واٹر پروجیکٹ کی تعمیر کا مقصد موجوں اور مون سون کی لہروں دونوں کے خلاف کافی سمندری تحفظ فراہم کرنا ہے۔ اس سے لہر کے قابل عمل حالات فراہم ہوں گے جنہیں کارگو آپریشنز اور ایسٹ بے کے ترقیاتی منصوبوں کے دیگر کاموں کے طور پر برتھنگ کے لیے محفوظ سمجھا جا سکتا ہے۔
