Rawalpindi: The 2.287 million budget for the Rawalpindi Development Authority, approved last year, has fallen prey to red-tapism due to the government’s failure to approve the budget in the absence of a civic agency’s member, reported a news source.
Earlier RDA sought Rs.2.237 billion from the Punjab government for its several ongoing developmental projects, including the Rawalpindi Ring Road, and the Nulalh Expressway and Flood Channel projects.
However, since the Punjab government is yet to appoint a new chairman and governing body of the RDA, the final approval for the budget hasn’t been received yet. It has been decided to send the budget estimate to the Punjab government for approval.
Earlier, a finance committee meeting was held under the chair of RDA Director-General Tahir Zafar Abbasi, during which the allocation of funds for the different projects was discussed.

اس سے قبل آر ڈی اے نے اپنے کئی جاری ترقیاتی منصوبوں کے لیے پنجاب حکومت سے 2.237 بلین روپے مانگے تھے، جن میں راولپنڈی رنگ روڈ، اور نوالہ ایکسپریس وے اور فلڈ چینل کے منصوبے شامل ہیں۔
تاہم، چونکہ پنجاب حکومت نے ابھی تک آر ڈی اے کے نئے چیئرمین اور گورننگ باڈی کا تقرر نہیں کیا ہے، اس لیے ابھی تک بجٹ کی حتمی منظوری نہیں مل سکی ہے۔ بجٹ تخمینہ منظوری کے لیے پنجاب حکومت کو بھیجنے کا فیصلہ کیا گیا ہے۔
