Rs.110bn reduction in the cost of the Leh Expressway project

A senior official of the RDA revealed that alongside the name change, the total cost of the project was also greatly reduced. A deduction of Rs.110 billion was made from the Rs.200 billion project.  The government is also planning to launch the project with its own funding. So, in this regard, a new PC would be submitted to the planning and development in the upcoming week.

The width of the nullah and dual carriageway at New Kattarian is predicted to be 55 meters which would steadily increase to 80 meters at its ending point at Soan Bridge near LHC’s Rawalpindi bench. However, a new bridge will not be built in PC-1, older ones will be repaired instead. A sewerage treatment plant will also be set up to treat the Leh Nullah Sewer to avoid flooding.

Rs.65 billion will be allocated to the construction of Leh Nullah and Dual Carriageway while Rs.25 billion will be saved for land acquisition.  

راولپنڈی: لیہہ ایکسپریس وے پراجیکٹ کا نام تبدیل کر کے راول ایکسپریس وے اور فلڈ چینل پراجیکٹ رکھ دیا گیا ہے، جب کہ اس کی کل لاگت کم ہو کر 90 ارب روپے ہو گئی ہے، ایک خبر رساں ذریعہ نے رپورٹ کیا۔ آر ڈی اے کے ایک سینئر افسر نے انکشاف کیا کہ نام کی تبدیلی کے ساتھ ساتھ پروجیکٹ کی کل لاگت میں بھی کافی کمی آئی ہے۔ 200 ارب روپے کے منصوبے سے 110 ارب روپے کی کٹوتی کی گئی۔ حکومت اس منصوبے کو اپنے فنڈز سے شروع کرنے کا بھی منصوبہ بنا رہی ہے۔ لہٰذا اس سلسلے میں آئندہ ہفتے ایک نیا پی سی پلاننگ اینڈ ڈویلپمنٹ کو پیش کر دیا جائے گا۔ نیو کٹاریاں میں نالے اور ڈوئل کیریج وے کی چوڑائی 55 میٹر ہونے کی پیش گوئی کی گئی ہے جو LHC کے راولپنڈی بنچ کے قریب سوان پل پر اپنے اختتامی مقام پر مسلسل بڑھ کر 80 میٹر ہو جائے گی۔ تاہم پی سی ون میں نیا پل نہیں بنایا جائے گا، اس کے بجائے پرانے پلوں کی مرمت کی جائے گی۔ سیلاب سے بچنے کے لیے لیہ نالہ گٹر کو ٹریٹ کرنے کے لیے سیوریج ٹریٹمنٹ پلانٹ بھی لگایا جائے گا۔ لیہ نالہ اور ڈوئل کیریج وے کی تعمیر کے لیے 65 ارب روپے مختص کیے جائیں گے جبکہ زمین کے حصول کے لیے 25 ارب روپے بچائے جائیں گے۔
