Rs10m mining sector scheme to be completed in one year

According to the news sources, the seminar was organized by the department on the special directions of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar. “The Women in Mining Initiative is the first-ever pro-women development scheme launched by the Mines and Minerals Department (MMD),” said the MMD secretary. “The project focuses on gender mainstreaming of the mining sector which is a male-dominated and highly technical sector,” he added. “The scheme worth Rs10 million will be completed in a period of one year. It includes various activities and interventions to retain and attract females in this sector,” he explained

During the seminar, Deputy Secretary Aatika Ammar Bukhari said, In the upcoming months, more seminars will be conducted in far-flung mining areas,” Female leaseholders presented and showcased their success stories and struggles in the session. They were a source of inspiration for other females aspiring to join the mining sector. The seminar was also attended by mining engineering students of PU and UET.

نیوز ذرائع کے مطابق محکمہ کی جانب سے وزیراعلیٰ پنجاب سردار عثمان بزدار کی خصوصی ہدایت پر سیمینار کا انعقاد کیا گیا۔ (ایم ایم ڈی) سکریٹری نے کہا، "(مائننگ کے اقدام میں خواتین) پہلی بار خواتین کی حامی ترقی کی اسکیم ہے جسے مائنز اینڈ منرلز ڈیپارٹمنٹ (ایم ایم ڈی) نے شروع کیا ہے۔" انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ "منصوبہ کان کنی کے شعبے کو صنفی مرکزی دھارے میں لانے پر مرکوز ہے جو کہ مردوں کی اکثریت والا اور انتہائی تکنیکی شعبہ ہے۔" 10 ملین روپے کی اسکیم ایک سال کی مدت میں مکمل کی جائے گی۔ اس میں اس شعبے میں خواتین کو برقرار رکھنے اور راغب کرنے کے لیے مختلف سرگرمیاں اور مداخلتیں شامل ہیں،‘‘ انہوں نے وضاحت کی۔
سیمینار کے دوران، ڈپٹی سیکرٹری عتیقہ عمار بخاری نے کہا، "آئندہ مہینوں میں، دور دراز کے کان کنی والے علاقوں میں مزید سیمینار منعقد کیے جائیں گے،" خواتین لیز ہولڈرز نے سیشن میں اپنی کامیابی کی کہانیاں اور جدوجہد پیش کیں۔ وہ کان کنی کے شعبے میں شامل ہونے کی خواہشمند دوسری خواتین کے لیے تحریک کا ذریعہ تھے۔ سیمینار میں پنجاب یونیورسٹی اور یو ای ٹی کے مائننگ انجینئرنگ کے طلباء نے بھی شرکت کی۔
