Road to be constructed with plastic waste in Lahore

According to the news sources, Deputy Commissioner expressed these views while presiding over a meeting regarding the construction of roads with plastic waste here at the DC Office.

An expert from Islamabad Dr. Waqas Cheema briefed him about the use of plastic waste in the construction of roads and said that eight types of plastic could be used for the construction of roads. He said that five tonnes of plastic could be used for the construction of a one-kilometer-long road, whereas Lahore Waste Management Company collected more than 20 tonnes on daily basis in the provincial metropolis.

According to the news sources, On the occasion, the DC focused the officials to conduct visits at plastic waste assemblage points in Lahore and said that such projects could help in protecting the environment.

نیوز ذرائع کے مطابق ان خیالات کا اظہار ڈپٹی کمشنر نے یہاں ڈی سی آفس میں پلاسٹک ویسٹ سے سڑکوں کی تعمیر کے حوالے سے منعقدہ اجلاس کی صدارت کرتے ہوئے کیا۔
اسلام آباد سے تعلق رکھنے والے ماہر ڈاکٹر وقاص چیمہ نے انہیں سڑکوں کی تعمیر میں پلاسٹک کے فضلے کے استعمال کے بارے میں بتایا اور کہا کہ سڑکوں کی تعمیر میں پلاسٹک کی آٹھ اقسام استعمال کی جا سکتی ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ایک کلو میٹر طویل سڑک کی تعمیر کے لیے پانچ ٹن پلاسٹک استعمال کیا جا سکتا ہے جبکہ لاہور ویسٹ مینجمنٹ کمپنی صوبائی شہر میں روزانہ کی بنیاد پر 20 ٹن سے زائد پلاسٹک اکٹھا کرتی ہے۔
خبر رساں ذرائع کے مطابق اس موقع پر ڈی سی نے لاہور میں پلاسٹک ویسٹ اسمبلیج پوائنٹس کے دورے کرنے پر افسران کو توجہ دلاتے ہوئے کہ�� کہ اس طرح کے منصوبے ماحولیات کے تحفظ میں مددگار ثابت ہوسکتے ہیں۔
