Rawalpindi: The Punjab government has authorised a PKR 8 billion budget for the revamped Koral Chowk-Motorway Chowk signal-free corridor plan. (Reported by news source)
The 22-kilometer-long signal-free corridor project in Pindi will shorten travel time between Islamabad International Airport (IIA) and the highway.
Underpasses will be built on the mall in front of the Pearl Continental Hotel, the General Headquarters (GHQ) Chowk, the General Post Office Chowk, and the Military Hospital Chowk, according to the initial proposal. A flyover will also be built between Ammar Chowk and Qasim Market.

RDA Director General Anwar Jappa claimed that the authority intends to make Liaquat Bagh Chowk signal-free, for which an underpass on Murree Road in front of Liaquat Bagh will be built. The RDA has created the preliminary plan, which has been submitted to the Punjab government for final approval.

ابتدائی تجویز کے مطابق مال پر پرل کانٹی نینٹل ہوٹل کے سامنے، جنرل ہیڈ کوارٹر (جی ایچ کیو) چوک، جنرل پوسٹ آفس چوک اور ملٹری ہسپتال چوک پر انڈر پاسز بنائے جائیں گے۔ عمار چوک اور قاسم مارکیٹ کے درمیان فلائی اوور بھی بنایا جائے گا۔

آر ڈی اے کے ڈائریکٹر جنرل انور جپہ نے دعویٰ کیا کہ اتھارٹی لیاقت باغ چوک کو سگنل فری بنانے کا ارادہ رکھتی ہے جس کے لیے لیاقت باغ کے سامنے مری روڈ پر انڈر پاس بنایا جائے گا۔ آر ڈی اے نے ابتدائی منصوبہ تیار کر لیا ہے، جسے حتمی منظوری کے لیے پنجاب حکومت کو پیش کر دیا گیا ہے۔
