Revision of rates demanded by contractors after the surge in petroleum prices

With the increase in petroleum prices three times in the last month, the prices of steel bars, cement, and crush have increased as well. To counter this, contractors are demanding an increase in prices for the rate of contracts. A source revealed that the halted projects will not be resumed until the rates are increased as per the inflation.

The government, however, has already revised the rates of contracts for development projects in December 2021, which had resulted in the cost of mega projects escalating by 25 percent.

The government was currently working on revising the rates and in this regard, a new notification will likely be issued after Eid-ul-Azha.

راولپنڈی: پٹرولیم کی قیمتوں میں تازہ ترین اضافے کے نتیجے میں ٹھیکیداروں نے نرخوں پر نظرثانی کا مطالبہ کیا ہے، جس کی وجہ سے شہر میں کئی سکیمیں رک گئی ہیں، ایک خبر رساں ذریعہ نے رپورٹ کیا۔
گزشتہ ماہ میں تین بار پیٹرولیم کی قیمتوں میں اضافے کے ساتھ ساتھ اسٹیل بار، سیمنٹ اور کرش کی قیمتوں میں بھی اضافہ ہوا ہے۔ اس کا مقابلہ کرنے کے لیے ٹھیکیدار ٹھیکے کی قیمتوں میں اضافے کا مطالبہ کر رہے ہیں۔ ایک ذریعے نے انکشاف کیا کہ رکے ہوئے منصوبے اس وقت تک دوبارہ شروع نہیں کیے جائیں گے جب تک مہنگائی کے مطابق نرخوں میں اضافہ نہیں کیا جاتا۔
تاہم حکومت نے دسمبر 2021 میں ترقیاتی منصوبوں کے معاہدوں کے نرخوں پر نظر ثانی کی ہے جس کے نتیجے میں میگا پراجیکٹس کی لاگت میں 25 فیصد اضافہ ہوا تھا۔
حکومت فی الحال نرخوں پر نظر ثانی پر کام کر رہی ہے اور اس سلسلے میں عیدالاضحیٰ کے بعد نیا نوٹیفکیشن جاری ہونے کا امکان ہے۔
