RDA, CDA alarm citizens over cheap housing societies

According to the news sources, several illegal housing societies that offer cheap rates are operational in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

According to a public announcement, made in this regard, by the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) and the Capital Development Authority (CDA), the illegal housing societies set up a trap by advertising heavily on the media using reputed media houses, online property portals, property expos, and even by hiring the services of celebrities as their brand ambassadors.

The overseas Pakistanis are the main targets of such illegal housing societies, as they easily fall for the online property portals and by the advertisements made on reputed media channels.

As per the law, it is mandatory for all the housing societies to have layout plans (LOPs) of the projects, and to obtain no-objection certificates (NOCs) from the authorities concerned.

Chairman Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Raja Tariq Mehmood Murtaza while talking to the media said that the RDA is trying its level best to binge awareness amongst the general public concerning the existence of illegal housing societies. He also added that the names of all the illegal operators in this regard had been uploaded on the website of the RDA.

Expressing his concerns Mehmood said illegal housing societies in Rawalpindi are looting the general public. We are creating awareness among the people by running public service messages on the media, with the help of our website, and also by setting up a help desk at the RDA’s office. Anyone can just walk into the RDA offices and seek info about the legalities of the housing societies within the jurisdiction, the chairman RDA said.

اس سلسلے میں راولپنڈی ڈویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی (آر ڈی اے) اور کیپٹل ڈویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی (سی ڈی اے) کی جانب سے کیے گئے ایک عوامی اعلان کے مطابق، غیر قانونی ہاؤسنگ سوسائٹیز نے معروف میڈیا ہاؤسز، آن لائن پراپرٹی پورٹلز کا استعمال کرتے ہوئے میڈیا پر بہت زیادہ اشتہارات دے کر جال بچھا دیا۔ ، جائیداد کی نمائش، اور یہاں تک کہ مشہور شخصیات کی خدمات کو ان کے برانڈ ایمبیسیڈر کے طور پر لے کر۔
بیرون ملک مقیم پاکستانی ایسی غیر قانونی ہاؤسنگ سوسائٹیوں کا سب سے بڑا ہدف ہیں، کیونکہ وہ آن لائن پراپرٹی پورٹلز اور معروف میڈیا چینلز پر دیے جانے والے اشتہارات کے ذریعے آسانی سے آ جاتے ہیں۔
قانون کے مطابق، تمام ہاؤسنگ سوسائٹیوں کے لیے لازم ہے کہ وہ پروجیکٹس کے لے آؤٹ پلانز (ایل او پی ایس) کا حامل ہوں، اور متعلقہ حکام سے نان آبجیکشن سرٹیفکیٹ (این او سی ایس) حاصل کریں۔
چیئرمین راولپنڈی ڈویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی (آر ڈی اے) راجہ طارق محمود مرتضیٰ نے میڈیا سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ (آر ڈی اے) غیر قانونی ہاؤسنگ سوسائٹیوں کے بارے میں عوام میں آگاہی فراہم کرنے کے لیے ہر ممکن کوشش کر رہا ہے۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ اس سلسلے میں تمام غیر قانونی آپریٹرز کے نام آر ڈی اے کی ویب سائٹ پر اپ لوڈ کر دیے گئے ہیں۔
محمود نے اپنے تحفظات کا اظہار کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ راولپنڈی میں غیر قانونی ہاؤسنگ سوسائٹیاں عوام کو لوٹ رہی ہیں۔ ہم اپنی ویب سائٹ کی مدد سے میڈیا پر عوامی خدمت کے پیغامات چلا کر اور (آر ڈی اے) کے دفتر میں ایک ہیلپ ڈیسک قائم کر کے لوگوں میں بیداری پیدا کر رہے ہیں۔ چیئرمین آر ڈی اے نے کہا کہ کوئی بھی شخص (آر ڈی اے) کے دفتر جا سکتا ہے اور دائرہ اختیار میں ہاؤسنگ سوسائٹیوں کی قانونی حیثیت کے بارے میں معلومات حاصل کر سکتا ہے۔
