RDA Advises Citizens Not to Invest in Illegal Housing Societies

RDA DG has said that several illegal and unauthorized housing schemes were operating without getting their no-objection certificates (NOCs) from the civic agency.

According to a spokesperson for the RDA, the DG has also directed the concerned authorities to take strict legal action against illegal housing schemes and take all steps to provide relief to the aggrieved citizens.

More than 300 fake and illegal housing societies exist in Rawalpindi district, according to the list available on the official website of the RDA.

The RDA DG also advised the citizens to always check the status of the housing society before investment. “Citizens should check the status of housing societies from the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MPTE) Directorate, or they should visit the RDA website to know the status of the housing projects before any investment,” he said.

The RDA has also submitted a request to Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) to issue directives to private TV channels to stop airing advertisements of illegal housing authorities. The spokesperson also revealed that the DG has ordered the Metropolitan Planning & Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) departments to take strict action against illegal and unauthorized construction activities without any discrimination.

Moreover, he has also asked Islamabad Electric Supply Company, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd, and Pakistan Telecommunication Limited to not provide services to illegal housing schemes.

آر ڈی اے کے ڈی جی نے کہا ہے کہ متعدد غیر قانونی اور غیر مجاز ہاؤسنگ اسکیمیں شہری ایجنسی سے اپنے نو آبجیکشن سرٹیفکیٹ (این او سی) حاصل کیے بغیر کام کر رہی تھیں۔
آر ڈی اے کے ترجمان کے مطابق ڈی جی نے متعلقہ حکام کو غیر قانونی ہاؤسنگ سکیموں کے خلاف سخت قانونی کارروائی کرنے اور متاثرہ شہریوں کو ریلیف فراہم کرنے کے لیے تمام اقدامات کرنے کی بھی ہدایت کی ہے۔
آر ڈی اے کی آفیشل ویب سائٹ پر دستیاب فہرست کے مطابق ضلع راولپنڈی میں 300 سے زائد جعلی اور غیر قانونی ہاؤسنگ سوسائٹیاں موجود ہیں۔
آر ڈی اے کے ڈی جی نے شہریوں کو مشورہ دیا کہ وہ سرمایہ کاری سے پہلے ہمیشہ ہاؤسنگ سوسائٹی کی حیثیت کو چیک کریں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ "شہریوں کو میٹروپولیٹن پلاننگ اینڈ ٹریفک انجینئرنگ ڈائریکٹوریٹ سے ہاؤسنگ سوسائٹیوں کی حیثیت کی جانچ کرنی چاہیے، یا انہیں کسی بھی سرمایہ کاری سے پہلے ہاؤسنگ پراجیکٹس کی صورتحال جاننے کے لیے آر ڈی اے کی ویب سائٹ پر جانا چاہیے۔"
آر ڈی اے نے پاکستان الیکٹرانک میڈیا ریگولیٹری اتھارٹی (پیمرا) کو نجی ٹی وی چینلز کو غیر قانونی ہاؤسنگ اتھارٹیز کے اشتہارات نشر کرنے سے روکنے کے لیے ہدایات جاری کرنے کی درخواست بھی جمع کرائی ہے۔ ترجمان نے یہ بھی انکشاف کیا کہ ڈی جی نے میٹروپولیٹن پلاننگ اور ٹریفک انجینئرنگ کے محکموں کو بغیر کسی امتیاز کے غیر قانونی اور غیر مجاز تعمیراتی سرگرمیوں کے خلاف سخت کارروائی کرنے کا حکم دیا ہے۔
مزید برآں، انہوں نے اسلام آباد الیکٹرک سپلائی کمپنی، سوئی ناردرن گیس پائپ لائنز لمیٹڈ، اور پاکستان ٹیلی کمیونیکیشن لمیٹڈ سے بھی کہا ہے کہ وہ غیر قانونی ہاؤسنگ سکیموں کو خدمات فراہم نہ کریں۔
