RCB to restart operation against schools, colleges in residential areas today

According to the news sources, On Friday, 12 schools and 27 shops were sealed in different areas of the Rawalpindi cantonment.

While talking to the media, A senior RCB official said that the civic body had issued eviction notices to 469 private educational institutions and 2,880 commercial outlets located in residential areas of the cantonment. He added that teams had been formed to seal schools and colleges as per the lists given to them.

The official said owners of private educational institutions met RCB officials and informed them that they had filed a review petition with the Supreme Court and demanded an early hearing on it.

“They requested the RCB not to initiate the operation to seal educational institutions till the court gives its decision on the petition,” he added.

However, RCB officials sought a stay order from the owners but they failed to produce it, therefore the cantonment board will go ahead with the operation, the official said.

“We will not stop the operation otherwise it will be a violation of the Supreme Court’s orders. The owners misinterpreted the decision as the court gave directions for schools to be shifted to commercial areas instead of residential areas,” he added.

While talking to the media, RCB spokesman Qaiser Mehmood said the board-initiated action against commercial activities in residential areas including private educational institutions. “We will not allow any school or college as well as shops and plazas to operate in residential areas,” he said, adding that school owners had been informed that the civic body would not violate the court’s orders.

میڈیا سے بات کرتے ہوئے، (آر سی بی) کے ایک سینئر اہلکار نے کہا کہ شہری ادارے نے کنٹونمنٹ کے رہائشی علاقوں میں واقع 469 نجی تعلیمی اداروں اور 2,880 تجارتی دکانوں کو بے دخلی کے نوٹس جاری کیے ہیں۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ انہیں دی گئی فہرستوں کے مطابق اسکولوں اور کالجوں کو سیل کرنے کے لیے ٹیمیں تشکیل دی گئی ہیں۔
عہدیدار نے کہا کہ نجی تعلیمی اداروں کے مالکان نے آر سی بی کے عہدیداروں سے ملاقات کی اور انہیں بتایا کہ انہوں نے سپریم کورٹ میں نظرثانی کی درخواست دائر کی ہے اور اس پر جلد سماعت کا مطالبہ کیا ہے۔
"انہوں نے آر سی بی سے درخواست کی کہ جب تک عدالت درخواست پر اپنا فیصلہ نہیں دیتی تب تک تعلیمی اداروں کو سیل کرنے کی کارروائی شروع نہ کرے۔"
تاہم، (آر سی بی) حکام نے مالکان سے حکم امتناعی طلب کیا لیکن وہ اسے پیش کرنے میں ناکام رہے، اس لیے کنٹونمنٹ بورڈ آپریشن کے ساتھ آگے بڑھے گا، اہلکار نے کہا۔
ہم آپریشن نہیں روکیں گے ورنہ یہ سپریم کورٹ کے احکامات کی خلاف ورزی ہوگی۔ مالکان نے اس فیصلے کی غلط تشریح کی کیونکہ عدالت نے اسکولوں کو رہائشی علاقوں کے بجائے کمرشل علاقوں میں منتقل کرنے کی ہدایت دی تھی۔
میڈیا سے بات کرتے ہوئے، (آر سی بی) کے ترجمان قیصر محمود نے کہا کہ بورڈ نے رہائشی علاقوں بشمول نجی تعلیمی اداروں میں تجارتی سرگرمیوں کے خلاف کارروائی شروع کی۔ "ہم رہائشی علاقوں میں کسی بھی اسکول یا کالج کے ساتھ ساتھ دکانوں اور پلازوں کو کام کرنے کی اجازت نہیں دیں گے،" انہوں نے کہا، انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ اسکول کے مالکان کو مطلع کیا گیا تھا کہ شہری ادارہ عدالت کے احکامات کی خلاف ورزی نہیں کرے گا۔
