Rawalpindi administration approves tourism express master plan

The district administration has approved the tourism express master plan, which will be a signal-free road from Kalar Syedan and Azad Kashmir with multiple vista points.

Under the project, land up to 220 feet along the 123-kilometers route between both points will only have multi-story commercial constructions.

The high-altitude spots including Panj Pir rocks will be used as scenic viewpoints to view Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) border with India, Mangla Dam, and Islamabad. These viewpoints will be upgraded for visitors and their green areas improved.

The tourism highway project will cost Rs4.4 billion and its approval was given in a meeting held under Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Chairman Tariq Murtaza.

The RDA chairman confirmed that the high-altitude spots on the tourism highway will be used as vista points for viewing the Pakistan-India border in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

He said all such points will be beautified and upgraded under the project. He added that other spots, including Mangla and Rawal dams and Islamabad, can also be viewed from the high-altitude spots.

He said that all such spots will be opened to the public in March next year and a big festival organized to mark the opening. The RDA chairman said that construction of multi-story commercial buildings will be allowed along the highway which will generate employment.

The project will increase the value of lands of private owners besides leading to an increase in business for the hotel industry, he said, adding that the foundation stone of the project will be laid soon.

بلند و بالا مقامات بشمول پنج پیر چٹانوں کو آزاد جموں و کشمیر (AJK) بھارت کے ساتھ سرحد ، منگلا ڈیم اور اسلام آباد کو دیکھنے کے لیے قدرتی نظارے کے طور پر استعمال کیا جائے گا۔ ان نقطہ نظر کو زائرین کے لیے اپ گریڈ کیا جائے گا اور ان کے سبز علاقوں کو بہتر بنایا جائے گا۔

ٹورازم ہائی وے پراجیکٹ پر 4.4 ارب روپے لاگت آئے گی اور اس کی منظوری راولپنڈی ڈویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی (آر ڈی اے) کے چیئرمین طارق مرتضیٰ کے زیر صدارت منعقدہ اجلاس میں دی گئی۔

آر ڈی اے کے چیئرمین نے تصدیق کی کہ سیاحتی شاہراہ پر بلند و بالا مقامات کو آزاد جموں و کشمیر (اے جے کے) میں پاک بھارت سرحد دیکھنے کے لیے وسٹا پوائنٹس کے طور پر استعمال کیا جائے گا۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ اس طرح کے تمام پوائنٹس کو پروجیکٹ کے تحت خوبصورت اور اپ گریڈ کیا جائے گا۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ منگلا اور راول ڈیم اور اسلام آباد سمیت دیگر مقامات کو بھی اونچائی والے مقامات سے دیکھا جا سکتا ہے۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ اس طرح کے تمام مقامات اگلے سال مارچ میں عوام کے لیے کھولے جائیں گے اور افتتاح کے موقع پر ایک بڑے میلے کا اہتمام کیا جائے گا۔ آر ڈی اے چیئرمین نے کہا کہ شاہراہ کے ساتھ کثیر منزلہ تجارتی عمارتوں کی تعمیر کی اجازت دی جائے گی جس سے روزگار پیدا ہوگا۔

اس منصوبے سے نجی مالکان کی زمینوں کی قیمت بڑھ جائے گی اور ہوٹل کی صنعت کے کاروبار میں اضافہ ہوگا ، انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ اس منصوبے کا سنگ بنیاد جلد رکھا جائے گا۔
