Punjab to showcase Ravi Urban project in Dubai Expo

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar chaired a meeting of Ravi Urban Development Authority at CM Office to review progress on the Ravi Riverfront Urban Development project.

The chief minister expressed satisfaction on the progress of the project and directed to speed up the pace of the work on it. Usman Buzdar said in the first phase of the Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project, 44 thousand acres of land had been selected and an industrial zone on 6,000 acres of land would also be established besides the construction of three barrages having the storage capacity of 600,000 cusec water.

The chief minister said the project would be eco-friendly as 6 million samplings would also be planted which would help significantly reduce environmental pollution. He further directed to complete the land acquisition work as soon as possible keeping in view all the rules and regulations.

The chief minister emphasized that the project would have a great attraction for foreign investment and it would also be showcased at the Dubai Expo. The CM said Ravi River-Front Urban Development Project was unique in the world to be built on the bank of a river. “It will prove to be a game-changer, leading to open up new avenues of development,” he maintained.

Ravi Urban Development Authority Chief Executive Officer Imran Amin briefed the meeting about the matters of progress and land acquisition for the project.

Provincial Minister Housing Asad Khokhar, Chief Secretary, SMBR, Secretary Housing, Chairman P&D, Principal Secretary to CM, Secretary Finance, Commissioner Lahore Division, Head of Special Monitoring Unit, and other relevant officers attended the meeting.

لاہور: وزیر اعلیٰ پنجاب نے راوی ریور فرنٹ شہری ترقیاتی منصوبے پر پیش رفت کا جائزہ لینے کے لیے ایک اجلاس کی صدارت کی۔

وزیراعلیٰ پنجاب سردار عثمان بزدار کی زیر صدارت راوی اربن ڈویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی کا اجلاس وزیراعلیٰ آفس میں ہوا جس میں راوی ریور فرنٹ شہری ترقیاتی منصوبے پر پیش رفت کا جائزہ لیا گیا۔

وزیراعلیٰ نے منصوبے کی پیش رفت پر اطمینان کا اظہار کیا اور اس پر کام کی رفتار کو تیز کرنے کی ہدایت کی۔ عثمان بزدار نے کہا کہ راوی ریور فرنٹ اربن ڈویلپمنٹ پراجیکٹ کے پہلے مرحلے میں 44 ہزار ایکڑ اراضی کا انتخاب کیا گیا ہے اور 6000 ایکڑ اراضی پر ایک صنعتی زون بھی قائم کیا جائے گا اس کے علاوہ تین بیراجوں کی تعمیر بھی ہو گی جن میں 600،000 کیوسک پانی ذخیرہ کرنے کی گنجائش ہے۔

وزیراعلیٰ نے کہا کہ یہ منصوبہ ماحول دوست ہوگا کیونکہ 60 لاکھ نمونے بھی لگائے جائیں گے جس سے ماحولیاتی آلودگی کو نمایاں طور پر کم کرنے میں مدد ملے گی۔ انہوں نے مزید ہدایت کی کہ تمام قواعد و ضوابط کو مدنظر رکھتے ہوئے زمین کے حصول کا کام جلد از جلد مکمل کیا جائے۔

وزیراعلیٰ نے اس بات پر زور دیا کہ یہ منصوبہ غیر ملکی سرمایہ کاری کے لیے بڑی توجہ کا مرکز ہوگا اور اسے دبئی ایکسپو میں بھی دکھایا جائے گا۔ وزیراعلیٰ نے کہا کہ دریائے راوی فرنٹ اربن ڈویلپمنٹ پروجیکٹ دنیا میں منفرد ہے جو دریا کے کنارے بنایا جائے گا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ یہ گیم چینجر ثابت ہوگا جس سے ترقی کی نئی راہیں کھلیں گی۔

راوی اربن ڈویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی کے چیف ایگزیکٹو آفیسر عمران امین نے اجلاس کو منصوبے کے لیے پیش رفت اور زمین کے حصول کے معاملات سے آگاہ کیا۔

صوبائی وزیر ہاؤسنگ اسد کھوکھر ، چیف سیکرٹری ، ایس ایم بی آر ، سیکرٹری ہاؤسنگ ، چیئرمین پی اینڈ ڈی ، وزیراعلیٰ کے پرنسپل سیکرٹری ، سیکرٹری خزانہ ، کمشنر لاہور ڈویژن ، ہیڈ آف اسپیشل مانیٹرنگ یونٹ اور دیگر متعلقہ افسران نے اجلاس میں شرکت کی۔
