Punjab government restricted the establishment of schools on highways

According to the news sources, these instructions are issued to all the divisional commissioners, regional police officers (RPOs), and relevant departments of the province. This decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Kamran Ali Afzal at Civil Secretariat here Monday.

While directing the meeting, the chief secretary said that cat’s eyes and signboards be installed near schools, hospitals, and parks located along highways and main roads. He also added that schools would be bound to install four road crossing assistants under the supervision of a duty teacher at the time of opening and closure of schools.

He asked to take a survey of all private schools near highways and main roads to recognize the high-risk educational institutions. Service roads and overhead bridges for pedestrians should be constructed wherever probable, besides making zebra crossings in front of all schools. He added.

نیوز ذرائع کے مطابق یہ ہدایات صوبے کے تمام ڈویژنل کمشنرز، ریجنل پولیس افسران (آر پی اوز) اور متعلقہ محکموں کو جاری کی گئی ہیں۔ یہ فیصلہ پیر کو یہاں سول سیکرٹریٹ میں چیف سیکرٹری کامران علی افضل کی زیر صدارت اجلاس میں کیا گیا۔
اجلاس کی ہدایت کرتے ہوئے چیف سیکرٹری نے کہا کہ ہائی ویز اور مین روڈز کے ساتھ واقع سکولوں، ہسپتالوں اور پارکوں کے قریب کیٹس ائ اور سائن بورڈ لگائے جائیں۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ اسکول کھولنے اور بند ہونے کے وقت ایک ڈیوٹی ٹیچر کی نگرانی میں چار روڈ کراسنگ اسسٹنٹ لگانے کے پابند ہوں گے۔
انہوں نے ہائی ویز اور مین روڈز کے قریب تمام پرائیویٹ سکولوں کا سروے کرنے کو کہا تاکہ ہائی رسک تعلیمی اداروں کو پہچانا جا سکے۔ تمام سکولوں کے سامنے زیبرا کراسنگ بنانے کے علاوہ جہاں ممکن ہو وہاں پیدل چلنے والوں کے لیے سروس روڈز اور اوور ہیڈ برجز بنائے جائیں۔
