Punjab Government Approves Uplifting Schemes of 23 Roads

LAHORE: The Punjab Provincial Development Working Party approved 23 development schemes of road sector at an estimated cost of RS 172500 million and proposed to public sector development program for inclusion in an up-coming budget.

These projects were approved in the 30th meeting of Provincial Development Working Partyof current fiscal year 2020-21 presided over by Planning & Development Board Chairman Abdullah Khan Sumbal.

The approved development schemes included dualization of Vehari – Abdul Hakim Road District Vehari / Khanewal at the cost of Rs10,634.461 million, dualisation of road from Karam Dad Qureshi (N-70) to Layyah District Muzaffargarh / Layyah at the cost of Rs28,576.490 million, dualisation of road from Lahore-Sargodha KhushabMianwali Road, District Khushab at the cost of Rs10,863.294 million, dualisation of road from SialMorr Interchange (M-2) to District boundary Sargodha – District Sargodha at the cost of Rs19,984.143 million and 19 other roads schemes.

Restoration of Shalimar Gardens’ portion is also included in the project.  Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) has started restoration work of photo gallery, historical and information board, tube-well and landscaping at Moore Craft Pavilion at Shalimar Gardens here Wednesday. Adviser to Chief Minister on Tourism Asif Mahmood inaugurated the event while Secretary Tourism Department Muhammad Ehsan Bhutta, PHA Chairman Engineer Yasir Gilani, Vice-Chairman Hafiz Zeeshan Rasheed, DG Jawad Ahmad Qureshi, and other officers were present.

Abdullah Khan said that PHA was providing quality facilities to the residents of Lahore in parks across the city. PHA welcomes the distribution of free indigenous and fruit trees and shrubs to the citizens in spring tree planting. We all have a responsibility to provide a clean environment for future generations. He further said that steps had been taken to restore tube-wells and landscaping to add to the Shalimar Gardens’ beauty.

لاہور: پنجاب صوبائی ترقیاتی ورکنگ پارٹی نے روڈ سیکٹر کی 23 ترقیاتی اسکیموں کی منظوری دی جس کی تخمینہ لاگت میں 172500 ملین روپے ہے اور آئندہ بجٹ میں شامل کرنے کے لئے سرکاری شعبے کے ترقیاتی پروگرام کو تجویز کیا گیا ہے۔

پلاننگ اینڈ ڈویلپمنٹ بورڈ کے چیئرمین عبداللہ خان سنبل کی زیرصدارت رواں مالی سال 2020-21 کے صوبائی ترقیاتی ورکنگ پارٹی کے 30 ویں اجلاس میں ان منصوبوں کی منظوری دی گئی۔

منظور شدہ ترقیاتی اسکیموں میں وہاڑی۔عبدالحکیم روڈ ضلع وہاڑی / خانیوال کو 10،634.461 ملین روپے کی لاگت سے دوہری بنانے ، کرم داد قریشی (این 70) سے لیہ ضلع مظفر گڑھ / لیہ تک 28،576.490 روپے کی لاگت سے سڑک کا دوگنا کرنا شامل ہے۔ 10،863.294 ملین روپے کی لاگت سے ، لاہور - سرگودھا خوشاب میانوالی روڈ ، ضلع خوشاب سے سڑک کا دوہرا پن ، 19،984.143 روپے کی لاگت سے سیال مورار انٹرچینج (M-2) سے ضلعی حدود سرگودھا - ڈسٹرکٹ سرگودھا تک سڑک کا دہرا ملین اور 19 دیگر سڑکوں کی اسکیمیں۔

شالیمار گارڈن کی بحالی بھی اس منصوبے میں شامل ہے۔ پارکس اینڈ ہارٹیکلچر اتھارٹی (پی ایچ اے) نے بدھ کے روز یہاں شالیمار گارڈنز میں مور کرافٹ پویلین میں فوٹو گیلری ، تاریخی اور انفارمیشن بورڈ ، ٹیوب ویل اور زمین کی تزئین کی بحالی کا کام شروع کردیا ہے۔ مشیر وزیر اعلی برائے سیاحت آصف محمود نے اس تقریب کا افتتاح کیا جبکہ سیکرٹری سیاحت محکمہ محمد احسان بھٹہ ، پی ایچ اے کے چیئرمین انجینئر یاسر گیلانی ، وائس چیئرمین حافظ ذیشان رشید ، ڈی جی جواد احمد قریشی اور دیگر افسران موجود تھے۔

عبداللہ خان نے کہا کہ پی ایچ اے شہر کے پارکوں میں لاہور کے باسیوں کو معیاری سہولیات مہیا کررہا ہے۔ پی ایچ اے موسم بہار کے درخت لگانے میں شہریوں کو مفت دیسی اور پھل دار درختوں اور جھاڑیوں کی تقسیم کا خیرمقدم کرتی ہے۔ ہم سب کی ذمہ داری ہے کہ وہ آئندہ آنے والی نسلوں کو صاف ستھرا ماحول فراہم کریں۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ شالیمار باغات کی خوبصورتی میں اضافے کے لئے ٹیوب ویلوں اور زمین کی تزئین کی بحالی کے لئے اقدامات اٹھائے گئے ہیں۔
