Proposed Master Plan Of Lahore District-2050 Suggests 3.6m People Of The Additional Population Be Housed Outside The Lahore District

The master plan is focused on accommodating around nine million people within the administrative boundaries of the Lahore district, whereas the rest of the 3.6 million would be accommodated outside the city. It was said that any further adjustment of the population within the district will affect the green area of Lahore.

The master plan aims to offer more opportunities for jobs, which would boost the economic growth in Lahore. The master plan will be targeting the six E’s in order to achieve a stable economy, which would be - emboldening SMEs and entrepreneurship, enabling the circular economy, encouraging private investors, enhancing infrastructure reliability, engaging with and supporting local opportunities, and empowering youth, women, and people with disabilities.

Furthermore, matters such as unemployment, low-income households, ownership conflicts, urgent needs, living conditions, dilapidated buildings, lack of infrastructure and utilities will also need to be addressed.

لاہور: اگلے 28 سالوں میں لاہور کی اضافی آبادی میں سے تقریباً 3.6 ملین افراد کے لیے گھر لاہور ضلع سے باہر رکھے جائیں گے، جیسا کہ لاہور ڈویژن 2050 کے ڈرافٹ ماسٹر پلان کے ذریعے تصور کیا گیا ہے۔
ماسٹر پلان میں تقریباً 90 لاکھ افراد کو ضلع لاہور کی انتظامی حدود میں رہائش فراہم کرنے پر توجہ دی گئی ہے، جبکہ باقی 3.6 لاکھ افراد کو شہر سے باہر رکھا جائے گا۔ کہا گیا کہ ضلع کے اندر آبادی کی مزید ایڈجسٹمنٹ سے لاہور کا سبز علاقہ متاثر ہوگا۔
ماسٹر پلان کا مقصد ملازمتوں کے مزید مواقع فراہم کرنا ہے جس سے لاہور کی معاشی ترقی کو فروغ ملے گا۔ ماسٹر پلان ایک مستحکم معیشت کے حصول کے لیے چھ ای ایس کو ہدف بنائے گا، جو یہ ہوں گے - ایس ای ایم ایس اور انٹرپرینیورشپ کو فروغ دینا، سرکلر اکانومی کو فعال کرنا، نجی سرمایہ کاروں کی حوصلہ افزائی کرنا، بنیادی ڈھانچے کی وشوسنییتا کو بڑھانا، مقامی مواقع سے منسلک ہونا اور ان کی حمایت کرنا۔ یہ نوجوانوں کے ساتھ ساتھ خواتین اور معذور افراد کو بھی بااختیار بنائے گا۔
مزید برآں، بے روزگاری، کم آمدنی والے گھرانوں، ملکیت کے تنازعات، فوری ضروریات، حالاتِ زندگی، خستہ حال عمارتیں، بنیادی ڈھانچے اور سہولیات کی کمی جیسے معاملات کو بھی حل کرنے کی ضرورت ہوگی۔
