Prime Minister launches Naya Pakistan Card initiative

Prime Minister Imran Khan formally launched the Naya Pakistan Card initiative, bringing mega welfare programmes of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government covering health, education, food, and agriculture sectors under one platform.

With the launch of the Naya, Pakistan Card beneficiaries of various initiatives can avail of all services on the same card. Naya Pakistan Card covers Ehsaas Ration Programme based on a food subsidy package for low-income families, Kisan Card, Sehat Card and scholarships for students.

While addressing the ceremony which was held at the Governor House, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the Kamyab Pakistan scheme was also in the pipeline under which two million eligible families would receive Rs400,000 interest-free loans for self-employment, free technical education to one member of each registered family, Rs2.7 million loan for house construction and free health insurance.

He added that the proposed Kamyab Pakistan programme to be launched in the KP province would be extended to other provinces later.

Besides, the government was presenting 6.3m scholarships to students to encourage them to pursue higher education as Rs47bn had been allocated in this regard, PM said.

He also added that to ensure the award of scholarships on merit, a special cell was being set up at the PM secretariat to collect students’ data.

Mr Khan said that the PTI got a two-thirds majority during the previous elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to development projects and improvements in different sectors. A UNDP report had also acknowledged a decrease in poverty in KP during 2013-18 due to the provincial government initiatives, he added.

On the occasion of the Naya Pakistan Card launch, Prime Minister Khan also distributed cheques among prayer leaders of Jamia mosques under a KP government initiative, among less privileged women under the Kifalat programme, and scholarships among students under the Ehsaas education programme.

وزیر اعظم عمران خان نے نیا پاکستان کارڈ پروگرام کا باضابطہ آغاز کیا، جس میں پاکستان تحریک انصاف (پی ٹی آئی) حکومت کے میگا ویلفیئر پروگراموں کو ایک پلیٹ فارم پر لایا گیا جس میں صحت، تعلیم، خوراک اور زراعت کے شعبوں کا احاطہ کیا گیا ہے۔
نیا پاکستان کارڈ کے اجراء سے مختلف اقدامات سے فائدہ اٹھانے والے ایک ہی کارڈ پر تمام خدمات حاصل کر سکتے ہیں۔ نیا پاکستان کارڈ احساس راشن پروگرام کا احاطہ کرتا ہے جو کم آمدنی والے خاندانوں کے لیے فوڈ سبسڈی پیکج، کسان کارڈ، صحت کارڈ، اور طلباء کے لیے وظائف پر مبنی ہے۔
گورنر ہاؤس میں منعقدہ تقریب سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے وزیراعظم عمران خان کا کہنا تھا کہ کامیاب پاکستان اسکیم بھی پائپ لائن میں ہے جس کے تحت 20 لاکھ اہل خاندان خود روزگار، مفت فنی تعلیم کے لیے 400,000 روپے کے بلاسود قرضے حاصل کریں گے۔ ہر رجسٹرڈ خاندان کے ایک فرد کو، گھر کی تعمیر کے لیے 2.7 ملین روپے کا قرض اور مفت ہیلتھ انشورنس فراہم کی جائیگی۔
انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ صوبہ کے پی میں شروع کیے جانے والے مجوزہ کامیاب پاکستان پروگرام کو بعد میں دوسرے صوبوں تک بڑھایا جائے گا۔
وزیر اعظم نے کہا کہ اس کے علاوہ، حکومت طلباء کو 6.3 ملین وظائف پیش کر رہی ہے تاکہ وہ اعلیٰ تعلیم حاصل کرنے کی حوصلہ افزائی کر سکیں کیونکہ اس سلسلے میں 47 ارب روپے مختص کیے گئے تھے۔
انہوں نے یہ بھی کہا کہ میرٹ پر سکالرشپ دینے کو یقینی بنانے کے لیے وزیر اعظم سیکرٹریٹ میں طلباء کا ڈیٹا اکٹھا کرنے کے لیے ایک خصوصی سیل قائم کیا جا رہا ہے۔
وزیراعظم عمران خان نے کہا کہ خیبرپختونخوا میں گزشتہ انتخابات میں ترقیاتی منصوبوں اور مختلف شعبوں میں بہتری کی وجہ سے پی ٹی آئی کو دو تہائی اکثریت ملی۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ یو این ڈی پی کی ایک رپورٹ میں بھی صوبائی حکومت کے اقدامات کی وجہ سے 2013-18 کے دوران کے پی میں غربت میں کمی کا اعتراف کیا گیا تھا۔
نیا پاکستان کارڈ کے اجراء کے موقع پر، وزیر اعظم خان نے کے پی حکومت کے اقدام کے تحت جامعہ مساجد کے نمازیوں میں، کفالت پروگرام کے تحت کم مراعات یافتہ خواتین میں، اور احساس تعلیمی پروگرام کے تحت طلباء میں وظائف کے چیک بھی تقسیم کیے۔
